What knives do ya really like but know ya shouldn't ?

SpydercoCivilianNet.jpg

I have absolultey no use for a Spyderco Civilian, but I soooo want one :(

I really want a knife with a tanto tip. I can't tell you why I want it and I really don't have much use for one. But still I want one.
Me too... so I went and bought a Cold Steel Kobun. Its the only knife I own that has never been used for anything. But I still kinda like it :D

I actually bought it!-Original Effingham Blackjack Model 1 w/stacked leather handle. Had it for years and havent used it. Stays beside my 870 for HD.--KV

I kind of get tingly when I see a decent hollow handled knife (I also get an unquenchable urge to watch "First Blood").

I don't own any and don't plan to purchase one, but something about them takes me back to my chidhood ignorance (a good thing!).

Brandon

A Buck Kalinga Pro (with camo handles) - it's a skiner.I don't do any skining at all,but this knife is cool as hell !!! :)
I want one :D

A Bagwell fighting bowie,or an Ed Fowler knife.Don't need either, but one can always dream.while I'm at it,how about something from Moran,or Fisk.

Randall Smithsonian Bowie- A big, clunky, and massive knee slapper of a knife(16", 3-4lbs, 3/8" thick). Not even close to the knives I buy now, but I still love that design, it reminds me of my boyhood where every big knife had to look like it would sever an arm or it wasn't worth it's salt.

Great configuration here-

Pit, just because they're not practical to you and me doesn't mean they're not practical for some others.. Nothing wrong with that TOPS knife:thumbup:

I like the look of Striders and Extrema Ratio knives:D
I like really big modern tactical folders for some reason:o

I'm sure it would make a dandy pig sticker as would it be efficient at killing other critters but what other uses would you think it might excel at Ray ?

Umm where to start? Knives i want but can't have- no Automatic/Butterfly knives allowed in Canada.
Bradley Kimura and Benchmade 42 butterfly knives.
Some kind of high end automatic.

Legal but impractical and/or too expensive(for me) knives
Busse Battle Mistress
Cold Steel Natchez Bowie
Falkniven Thor
The Above mentioned Randall Smithsonian would be on that list as well.
Smatchet
Hanwei Samuel Bell Bowie
Hanwei Outrider Bowie
SOG Superbowie

Daggers (not practical at all)
SOG Daggerts, old Gerber MKII, old fancy Muela double edged hunting daggers.

Folders (practical but rare or expensive)
Old Spyderco Manix plain edge, New Spyderco Manix Sprint run S90V FG Manix.
Zero Tolerance 200, 350.

A bunch of Paul Chen/Hanwei and Cold steel swords.

The only one on this list that i might buy this coming year would be the ZT 200 or 350.

Big tacticools. I don't need em, but I like em. Spyderco Police 3, Strider SMF/SNG, Umnumzaan, Benchmade Skirmish/Rukus etc.

Randall Model 14. My penultimate. $500 will buy a good amount of ammo or a halfway decent firearm. Can never seem to bring myself to actually buy it.

does this change your mind:D

Hey, crossada. Stop it!
That beautiful picture (and other pictures repeatedly posted to
Custom sbforum) made me like this. :D

Bowies are the spirit of freedom coming from early America.
If I was born and grown up in America, I should have obtained it already.

I'm Japanese and have a pair of sword inherited from my ancestor.
Those should be enough for me.
But this does not change the fact that I love Bagwell Bowies.

I kinda want one of the 80's rambo rip-off knifes again, with the molecular stainless steel. They totally suck and I even had one at one point and broke it. Still, I'd like to find one, pay $30 for the nostalgia value (even keep vinyl sheath should I not choose to keep the knife). I just want to have one. At the very worst, when I'm showing some newby my knives I can pop that one out and show them what a bad knife actually is.

There are a few nautical folders that catch my eye for reasons that I can't explain.

I like the A.G. Russell SeaMaster. It really occupies a commanding position in the 'combo-edged wharnie folder with integral marlin spike' market.

I'm also a fan of the Spyderco Captain, which is endearingly ugly and looks like it could make some great fuzz sticks.

All the best,
