What knives do you find overrated?

"I don't like the knives I don't like, and no one else should like the knives I don't like.
All the knives I don't like are over-rated, and the people who like them are dupes."

That's how the over-rated talk looks to me. :)

Yap!

Now for the Benchmade Griptillian. Dollar for dollar, show me a better folding knife for field use than the Griptillian, if you have to wear work gloves. Go ahead. Name one. You can't? I am not surprised.

Endura. I stumble with Axis studs w/ gloves on. Forget about using the thumb studs. More grip, cheaper, and more satisfying 'snap' when you open it. :p

Endura?

How does anyone get a decent grip on that thing with heavy work gloves on? It is like handling a credit card with mittens. The knife is so thin it will disappear if you look at it from the wrong angle! And people say the Griptillian looks cheap.

In all fairness, I have never owned an Endura. I think they are one of the ugliest knives that Spyderco makes. I do own a Clip It Rescue though. To me, the Rescue looks cheap but works very well for its intended use. I assume the Endura is on par with the Rescue. If so, it is a fine knife for the money.

They work much better in hand than looks alone would suggest. My newest endura is soon to get a workout trimming vines that erupt in my azaleas.
They work perfectly for that and other gardening tasks!

Amen. We should be thankful for the tremendous variety of knives available to us these days!

And just to clear up any confusion, chocolate is objectively better than vanilla. Vanilla is the elevator music of ice cream: bland and so inoffensive it becomes offensive. Chocolate is exciting, sexy, passionate, deep, rich, and has been proven recently by scientists at the University of Ice Cream in Hamburg superior to vanilla in every measurable way.
So basically if you prefer vanilla to chocolate, you're entitled to your opinion, which is wrong. ;)

LOL. I happen to like vanilla. And of course you prefer chocolate, right? Well, you can keep your chocolate eating scientist from Hamburg. The heavens are on my side. Angel food cake is made with vanilla and devil's food is made with chocolate!:D

Thanks for your comments my friend. Funniest thing I have had the chance to read all day. With that said, I think I will have an vanilla ice cream sandwich. It has just a little chocolate on it.

Thank you. I'm glad you agree Sebenza sux. Facts are facts

At least you used the very precise techinical classification for its how bad it is, "sux". Everyone knows thats how a blade you don't like should be described :D

But I like my Sebenza. And I don't like the Military...well I mean, I like "the" military, I served in "the" military...oh, never mind. :p

Interesting question.
Now that I read through all this, I'm not so sure anymore if the knife I have in mind is overrated or overpriced.
If you search the web for the Custom OTF Pocket Lightsaber Knife, you know what I'm talking about.
hope this helps. ;)

Oh I thought of one. I think the Spyderco Tenacious is overrated. The ergos just didn't really work for me...and I hated how the grind went all the way to the handle.

To be specific I think the Tenacious line is overrated and the Byrd line is underrated.

First of i think comeuppance should put his comment's about will moon (i'am from the Netherlands) who i don't know,in the good/bad thread.
In my humble opinion Fallkniven knives are overrated,i don't know in the US but in Europe i've heard lot's of comments that they do chip on the edge and tip a lot and cost a lot of money.for half or two third of the money plenty of good to great knives are to buy from custom makers.i've hada few so i know what i'am talking about.
