What knives do you hope 2018 will bring?

Mine? I'd like to see a premium (Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, etc) made high carbon steel blade in a modern design.

It seems like any new high quality, high carbon bladed knives are in the "traditional" or slip joint categories.

The knife world just seems to be highly invested in some level of stainless, enduring many a sleepless nights in fear of the dreaded.............

RUST......(gasp!!!)

At 58, I grew up with an Old Timer stockman in my pocket, and it was a razor. It was also rust free. it's not hard. Really.

Why can't we have advanced designs of high carbon bladed knives?

OK. I had my say, and I'm done.....What do you want to see in 2018?

So what do I want for 2018 ?
I'd love to see Vic release blaze orange as a cale color option from 58mm-91mm models, make their camo available for all sizes, and would love to see them release some with a camo shield scale and blaze orange back scale.

And of course a good ol' basic carbon steel from Buck and Vic, though I know that won't happen and can still live with that.

My list of knives to acquire in 2018 include:
AG Russell - Light'n Bug & Woodswalker
LT Wright - Coyote
Bark River - Bird & Trout
Spyderco - Sprig
LionSteel - Roundhead
Grohmann - #1
Of course I expect to find others that are going to distract me and demand I buy them along the way.

Already waiting on 2 that are already purchased and will arrive soon.
Horsewright custom order
Arno Bernard Marabou.

I'm going back down to the mailbox and wait for them.

Knives I'm already eyeballing:
- Millit Torrent (preferably in damasteel)
- CRK Large Sebenza 21 in Cocobolo
- CRK Small Sebenza 21 Insingo w/ Micarta
- Lionsteel roundhead in carbon fiber or white carbon fiber
- WE Zeta
- Todd Begg Steelcraft mini glimpse
- Maxace Halictus

Fairly large 1st day of 2018 list. As for knives I'd like to see 2018 bring (that haven't been confirmed):
- Spyderco PM2 in LC200N
- Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight in M390 or 204p
- Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight in LC200N
- Spyderco Delica in LC200N, M390 or 204p
- Spyderco Para 3 in LC200n, M390 or 204p
- A small, slim, streamlined, lightweight, flipper WE knife, they haven't seemed to bring all of it together
- Another Elijah Isham design that's around the 3-3.5" range
- Lionsteel to create a small EDC knife that actually has good action (looking at you, crappy action on the TRE)
- Coldsteel to adapt the scorpion lock from Andrew Demko
- Kershaw and CRKT to use slightly better materials and fit & finish on their more stunning designs, i.e. more mid-range, like $70-$120.

This year I think I'll definitely eventually own a Koenig Arius.

The other thing I've suddenly got a weird itch for is to collect a bunch of Delicas in different colors and steels. We'll see. :D

Isn't there a 52100 version of the Spyderco para and Mili?

Sure would be great if more new models were made lefty friendly!

One of the replacable carbide cutters on my multitool cracked in half and I realized the replacement ones are not that cheap, so I'm considering just getting a new tool. I've found the slideout action on my Gerber to be pretty handy at work, so I've been looking at the Leatherman OHT. I would love it if that one also came in bladeless though.
