What knives have you bought duplicates of?

I've got 4 Skylines:
2 Orange
2 Brown
I've got one of each to put away and I use the duplicates. I actually swapped the brown scales for the orange scales, so now I've got a FrankenSkyline

I've also got 2 OD-2s:
1 Black-bladed
1 regular production

Lastly, I've got 2 Zings:
1 black-bladed tanto
1 black-bladed tanto blem with green handle
 
I have purchased duplicate knives when they are a bargain and are common tools that might be lost or broken.....a local hardware store had Schrade lockbacks together with a sharpening stone, so I bought several and had an extra when the first one was lost.

Mora Clipper is a knife I purchased several of so that I could have extra ones for replacement. Even inexpensive knives will increase in price, so buying a few extra ones when they are available makes sense. I only wish I were as canny and knowedgeable with the stock market.

Other knives may well be good items to put away for barter purposes when the zombies attack and when normal life ceases. Swiss Army knives, Mora sheath knives and Tramontina machetes are some exampes of cutlery that might be stockpiled. They are useful for many purposes and should only increase in value. :cool:

I can imagine that daggers and lock backs will be the first to go, along with fixed blades over a certain length. But they will make awesome barter pieces, just like a pack of cigs or Bic lighters can get you out of small binds. (I just cant carry cigs or I'd return to smoking them)

Oops, I just realized this was addressed to me. Yeah, I may try a cheap Mora(maybe a Clipper), but that Black Bushcraft is only like $35 (but then I would never have had the original Mora experience). I'd also like to get a couple Buck 110s, and a couple Enduras in ffg plain edge. I also really like convexed edges, it would be cool to find a decent steel in a minimalist/smaller to mid sized options.

As for your question, I have many of the same swiss army knives, namely the Soldier/SI model, classic, and the Tinker. Also, have duplicate Opinels though they are different sizes, and I have duplicate Buck 110's.
 
I always seem to buy duplicates of knives I like a lot. I have to Umnumzaans, two small sebenzas, two SnG's, two PT's, three Spyderco dragonfly's, and two Spyderco Manix2's. Ok.... I'm a little obsessed!

As the old rule states: 2 is one, 1 is none. Pays to have a backup.
 
The only true duplicates I have are Victorinox SAKs. I have several copies of several different knives in addition to a selection of other models.

I have also two Condor Golok machetes. One has been used a fair amount and a little banged up, and the other is essentially still in the box. I keep the Golok in my work vehicle for whatever tasks come up.

I have two Spyderco Enduras, but one is plain edge and the other fully serrated. Not a true duplicate. I have moved to the Delica for using mostly and keep the serrated Endura in my field bag which is dominately for work related tasks.

I only have two of a Spyderco Chokwe. It is being discontinued and I wanted a backup.
 
I bought a second Kershaw OD-1 to replace the one I lost. I later found it in the seat of the van, so now I have a backup. The detent isn't quite as good on the second one, so I carry the original one when I carry that model.

ETA: Almost forgot to add that I have ordered 2 of the SanRenMu B4T21. It has a seatbelt cutter and glass breaker, so I bought one for each vehicle. I haven't received them yet, though, so I forgot about them :)
Also, I may add another Blur, but not in the same color. That's the fun part of models that come in lots of versions.
