What light are you guys carrying along side your CRK?

Right on guys thanks for all the info I might check it out what would be a good place to start not to derail a thread just seems like a lot of info and knowledge on the subject.
I use my light almost daily whenever I'm out and about after dark. I'll use it to illuminate the inside of my backpack, my gf's purse, the trunk of my car (she's old), walking up stairs, keyhole to a door if a porch light isn't on etc. I'll have a night stand torch for those late night restroom calls.

I would highly recommend checking out Candle Power Forums.

The BFC of flashlights.

Be warned. Just as much of a slippery slope as guns, knives, and other gear. Lol

If you want a few suggestions check my post here #49 for some great lights that will serve you well getting started. I would also second the suggestion of candlepower forums. There is a huge wealth of knowledge over there, so much so that your head will spin. I personally have just stuck with the higher end production models as of now because I still don't know enough or make enough money to get into custom lights. I try to pick a brand, or 4, that I like and get a good variety of stuff from them including buying multiples of a light that I really like in different finishes like aluminum, copper, and titanium. As mentioned you will be hooked fast so hang onto your wallet. The only good thing is that if you stick with the better production made stuff you really won't be much more than $100 at the most on a light, and that is usually a titanium or copper example, whereas with knives the high end production stuff can be up to $500 for one knife. So I usually can justify buying 3 or 4 lights to every 1 knife.

Good luck and enjoy. It's a very cool hobby to get into and it goes well with the knife, and gun type hobbies.

A flashlight is orders of magnitude more useful than a pistol. You will likely go your whole life without firing an EDC sidearm. You will use that flashlight every day, I promise.

What nbp said. CandlePowerForums is to lights what BF is to knives. Good EDC lights are forever useful and worth carrying always. Just like a good EDC knife. Some already listed are excellent lights to start off with, then gradually work your way up the EDC ladder in price, quality, and functionality if you like. The lights already listed here so far range from below $50.00 to over $2,000.00. It just depends what you want and what you are willing to pay for it.

Oh, and I use my EDC lights every day for whenever they are needed. :)

Lately when I am not at work I have been carrying a ZebraLight SC63w. Insanely bright light in a small package.
At work I carry a Prometheus alpha ready made light. Can't say enough good stuff about this light. Everything you need and nothing you don't.

Zebralight H32f. Its about 5 min. till the daily 0430 morning dog walk.

Very cool light. How do you like carrying and using an angled head instead of the traditional setup? I've kicked around getting one of those lights but I'm not sure how I would like the angled setup.

Actually this light was pulled from where it lives in my car (along with its headband), to evaluate a couple of features for a new Zebralight purchase.

It wouldn't be my first choice for normal usage, but the angled head's functionality remains workable . Imo you can't beat the ergonomics and natural aiming abilities of a standard configuration light.

That's exactly what I thought but needed to hear it from someone who has actually used an angled light. I have the SC5 and SC52 so I'll just stick with those instead of putting money towards an angled headlamp for edc.

I have a Streamlight that I will carry at night, it is amazing the amount of light a small flashlight can produce now! I would post a picture but my daughter absconded with it for a sleepover and I have not gotten it back from her yet:)

Hey Nathan. I got your visitor messages but couldn't figure out how to reply so I wanted to let you know that I wasn't ignoring you. The lights you have coming have good reviews, however I haven't had first hand experience with them yet. I know that they all are good quality and especially the Maratac cr123 stainless steel light will be a winner. I believe there is a couple posts on CPF where they had a suggestion for a pocket clip that fits that light. That is the only downside for me when I was considering it. I like to keep both my knives and my lights higher up and clipped in my pocket so they aren't rattling around at the bottom with the rest of my stuff and getting scratched up.

I appreciate it! I would have PM'd you, but I didn't see the option and I'm obviously no longer a Gold member. I'm right there with you. Pocket clips are preferred! I'll try it out w/o one first and may later rig it to clip/hang in some fashion.

I love my SC52W. The UI is awesome, tint is great and it's surprising the amount of light that comes out of such a small 1xAA light. Being able to access all of the different brightness levels with just a click or two is so cool.

Thanks guys... because of you I just ordered a ThruNite Ti3 EDC. I wanted something with a really low light level as well as higher levels. I expect 95% of my needs is for at night in the house when I want it to not bump into stuff. I do have two surefire lights (both CR1213's) but they are too much for that usecase. I expect I will get a second LED light maybe a Zebra Light for using away from the house.

I currently have the following:

Muyshondt Aeon MK III (Bead Blasted)
Zebralight SC5 (Neutral)
Zebralight SC62W
Olight S1 Baton Titanium

NiteCore SRT7
NiteCore P12

I hope to get into customs really soon. Hanko Twisted Trident and Haikus are top on my list.

An ARC-P "AAA" has been my go to light for many years and is now paired with my newest CRK[emoji106]

Is that a custom pocket clip for the Ti-lock, or did you slap a Sebenza clip on it?
