What light weight slim fixed blades do your wives (significant others) have?

The Spyderco Moran has ended up as our must used Kitchen knife. Comes way sharp and the sheath is most excellent. I EDCed it for about 5-6 years and put it threw some paces. Very pleased.

Light weight, Misses friendly. easy to maintain.....

Hum. I'm having some second thoughts about getting her a fixed blade though. I'm not sure how much she would use it. But I could see her using a nice folder more. Hum. Any thoughts on that issue? I could see her using and liking a nice SAR instead. And it would be multi-functional.

For a 4 inch knife, light weight, and your price range I like the BRKT North Star. They just did a run of these so you have a very nice choice of handle materials at the moment. If you prefer stainless, then the mini North Stars a good also. The North Stars are one of my favorite walking in the woods knives. Light with alot of blade, you won't be disappointed.

Benchmade grip or mini. Spyderco Delica. Both can be found for 50-75 dollars and both are outstanding. I prefer the mini grip myself.

try a blacksmiths knife, like those made by tim lively. they dont come with sheath (at least i dont think they do), but they look pretty. i made some cheap versions of it that looks almost exactly like the lively knives but with some fancy patterns on it, and all my female friends seemed to love it.

How about a Grohmann DH Russell no. 1 or no. 2? They are nice fixed blades with a rather elegant shape and slim handle. The leather sheath rides close to the body and pretty high. Good for camp work, food prep, and cleaning fish and small game.

Had a thought, have you discussed this with your wife at all? Or, are you hoping that she won't like what you get and you get to keep it? :D

For a folder, I think that I would get her a mini grip in her favorite color (if available). I got my wife a Leatherman P4 and she loves it. Uses it all the time.......

I recently got my wife a SOG field pup for her to use on hiking and camping trips. She absolutly loves it and my OHT, which I have to pry her figures off when I need it:D. easy sharpening and hold a decent edge even after she splits wood with it.

Mine carries the Moran as well. Loves it.

I EDC the Spyderco Delica along with a few others. I use the Delica 99% of the time. It's clipped to the side of my messenger bag and I grab that before even remembering I have a small Dawson fixed hooked on a swivel from the base of my purse handle (the knife in my avatar).

I'd say a leek or scallion. I've really gotten into kershaws folders in that size and weight. My leek is thin, light and has a solid clip, plus that 440A has held up well,(better than any gerber I can garentuee) Plus the flipper is really convienent. Over all a great little knife.
