I like the one about the strike at Northfield, when Catlin brought 15 cutlers over from Sheffield, thinking they would act as scabs, but they went to work for other firms instead

The long, thin spear main looks German to me, otherwise no idea. Someone had a magnificent stash of stag to put those covers on a Barlow!

Thanks Jeff. I was thinking German or Sheffield. I have see some Case barlows made like this but the pin placement is slightly different.

Nothing wrong with the RR ones I have a couple myself. The GECs are pricey on the secondary market but you might want to a look at the Bokers. Well made and available.

I DID win me one of those one hand opening Barlows. Probably something someone would be interested in. But it just wasn't for me. I am a little bummed because it got real rusty in my knife roll. Never used just cleaned periodically because..well Mississippi summers. It looks better than this now but I am not done cleaning it
