I do not know what that shield is called , but I suspect

knowtracks Dave will know . I really like your new barlow by S & M . It appears to be well proportioned and does not have what I call a Fat Clip blade . What is the Length of it ?

The shield is a keystone, used on many S&M knives, just a smaller slimed down version.

Thank you, Harry. I agree it’s a very well proportioned knife. The box says its C69M pattern which I believe is the classic barlow. It’s 3.5” closed.

All steel construction, solid 7 pull, nice crispy walk and talk. All the hallmarks of a Good, Traditional Barlow.
