What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Hello, i'm a french knives user singe my young âge, and don't know the barlow style unless description in "Tom Sayer". Few weeks ago on the forum, saw a beautifull Barlow by Ray Smith, bought it, receipt and use.....
Barlow's are fantastic, very confortable hand, little but usefull blade, a humain friend in all the times of my Life, work, garden, familly, walking in forest......
I think that this is that make a good Barlow, the pleasure of take it, use it and buy it at a simply but excellent knifemaker.....
Singe I've bought another Barlow to Ray Smith that Will arrive in the next days and order another to the moddle of the year, and certainly not the last because my sun is looking to take it.....

Those are quite a sight, indeed. Thanks for posting the pictures, Belerofon. You refer to these as "little knives." What is their length?


Meanwhile, for anyone ranging from intrigued to madly curious about the profile of the upcoming clip blade TC knives, and/or about the "lines" of the main blade's pull relative to the secondary pen, take a look'a this:

Print 'em out to scale, crayon in a TC, and you're good to go. Or at least, you've gone as far as you can, for the time being. ;)

Looks like the pull on the main would be easier to get purchase on. I'd probably like it better than the spear main I have now. But, I'm happy with what I have.
