  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I was very fortunate for the chance to buy a Pony Cut TC, and received it just in time for Christmas. I haven't shared it yet, because quite frankly there are no nice enough winter days in NW PA deserving of a photo op.

Today however is a beautiful sunny 75 ° day (in February!), and I've decided to try to take a nice photo. As much as I loved this knife upon first receipt, I couldn't believe how much richer the scales were today in the bright sunlight.

Thank you again Charlie for making this available to me. This knife is truly a treasure!

Just. Wow! You really captured it.

May I ask what 'pony cut' refers to? (Google turned up how to make kids party favors, knife attacks on a pony, buy not this...)

i'm guessing it's GEC's name for that jigging pattern.

Philllll - is that a Genuine "One Armed Razor" ? The reason I ak is that I have never seen an I*XL made example- and did the Sheffield industry make these- I understand the American Cutlery industry making these from the effects of the Civil war etc - but English? Real interesting.
The way the Swedge is cut seems to me that this is Factory!

Interesting knife Phil, I have never seen an IXL in that pattern before, very unusual. May we see it open?

Thanks Phil  Wow, that is interesting! I wonder if it was bespoke or part of a special order? Quite incredible

I've seen IXL Dog Groomers, but only the two-blade kind.
