What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Speaking of old, traditional barlows, here's one...

Nice old Barlow with a great stamp on the bolster. Is there a "GWS" and/or "Germany" stamp on the blade?
 
Those look fantastic! Super excited about the BF version! Wish I wouldn't have missed out on the others but I'm more than content with just one in micarta. Thank you for posting those pictures Augie Augie
 
I'm on "standby" with CK for both the red and ebony. While my fingers are crossed...I'm not holding my breath lol.
