Yeah I found that info too.M Murphy Slaw , I believe the issue has to due with the part content. A product has to have a certain percentage of its content manufactured in the U.S. to qualify to have it stamped U.S.A. Leatherman was sued by the state of California sometime in the 1990s. As a result, tools from that period had U.S.A. removed since they did not have enough part content to qualify. I am no expert on this topic, I am just sharing what little bit I know.
