Bruce, excellent choice! I keep a Swiss Army Knife in every vehicle and my work backpack for just that reason.

2nd generation Leatherman wave is in my bag today. I bought it used but in great condition with a leatherman leather sheath about 15 years ago and it has been a faithful companion. Before that I had a first gen leatherman which I gave to my nephew before he went to Iraq and fought at Fallujah.

I haven’t worn it regularly because I *hate* the sheath. I need to acquire or make a leather one.

It occurred to me recently that the diamond file on my LM Wave could be used to sharpen other knives. Duh!

So today I used it to sharpen an old SAK Golfer and this old Colonial slip joint. Worked great! Pretty coarse for a diamond file but I reckon it will wear in a bit over time. Anyway it left both knives much sharper with nice toothy edges.
