What multitool do you guys like best for a sheath pouch as part of a survival kit ?

I would say it depends on how often you use the knife blade. The TTi has an S30V knife blade, which is the only reason I'd spend the extra money, but which I doubt I ever will because I don't use the knife blade on my Wave or Juice (S2 and Xe6) hardly at all. I always have a "real" knife on me, and most of the time it is an S30V blade (Bradley Alias I), but even when it ain't that one, it's still better steel than the 420HC of the Wave or all of the Juices.

If weight is the major consideration, the TTi does provide a little advantage, as it has 19 tools and 8 bits coming in at 8.2 oz., while the Wave comes in at 8.5 oz. with 17 tools and only 2 bits.

The Charge AL is likewise 17 tools, but with 8 bits, at 8.3 oz., and the ALX is 18 tools/9 bits at 8.3 oz. also, but on both the AL and ALX, the main knife blade is 154CM steel, a great, durable steel for knives, and the extra 1/10th of an ounce hardly seems to justify an extra $100 bucks even considering the higher-end steel on the TTi.

In short, no, it ain't anywhere near worth the extra benjamin, although to be fair, there are several places to find the TTi that the price is nowhere near as much as $100 bucks more than a Wave. Still ain't worth it to me though.

S30v blade you say? I use the blade alot since I can't carry a knife at work but I can have a Leatherman (riddle me that batman) maybe ill price out a tti, I heard through the grapevine they offer a camo version.....

Have not heard of a camo version, but yes, the TTi definitely has an S30V main knife blade only. Serrated and all other tools are not S30V, if that matters to you. And hey, even if work outlaws multi-tools, if there really is a camo version, they'll never see it! :p

Blues brings up a great point about the knife blade being pretty unnecessary. Of all the multi-tools I've owned over the past maybe 10-12 years I could probably count on one hand how often I've used the knife blade on any of them.

I also have a wave and carry a "real" knife, so I have no need for the Charges better steel. With the money saved getting a Wave instead of a Charge I bought the full 21 bit set, bit extender, removable pocket clip and still had a bunch of cash leftover.
