What multitool or SAK did you buy today

Did not buy but received as a Bday present - my girlfriend comes home and says that she found something cool today and I would like it. She comes holding a Vic 91mm, I'm like "Cool, a SAK!!" and then I see it's baling dangler (?) And then the different liners, old model screwdriver and then the clip point small blade!! I start happily getting wired up at the idea of an old school SAK. Did some learning...

Made from sometime in the 'mid 50s-'70s but pre-73 from my understanding as that's when they disco'd the clip point. She got me an old school SAK like nothing!! I'm so proud. She wasn't even aware of what she had till I told her. Will cherish it.

She also has her sister ready to gift me a real, old school 20's Schrade Presto!! I am in awe and very in love! With my girlfriend as well as the knives! Haha

Nice find! She might’ve gotten you hooked on older SAKs! Based on the awl type it’s ‘61+ and for most models, the shackle/bail was not used by about ‘67-‘68, and the last use I know of is about 1970 for Officers’ knives. A closer look at the knife and tool details would let me put a year on it or very tight range.

Oh definitely, I love the style and appreciate the differences! Here are some better pics, would love any info.

Perfect! I think yours might be early-1970. Just before they changed the scissors to the new style. Because of the symmetrical cut tooth saw and the shackle/bail, it definitely falls between ‘68 and ‘70. Lots of other details confirm this range. A sharp pic of the backside with the awl closed might help me confirm the early-‘70 estimate.

Also it says Rostfrie too, not seeable in photo at the bottom of the tang. Will get a better pic when I get home, thanks so much for the identifiers. I have a total Spyderco type collection issue going on with just them (Spyderco) and Victorinox, ha.

Understood. That’s what I’d expect on the obverse tang stamp. aka ‘VSSR’

My two Winter Magic Cadets came in yesterday…and they’re really nice. Regretting not buying a few more.

Whoa, just looked at those, that is a very special version, I love that! I am regretting not knowing about it, haha. Rook a few months off new purchases so didn't tempt myself by being in the loop. I definitely now have a bias towards Winter/white scales.

Thanks so much with dating the new SAK! In fact you're in general a huge help whenever I have come on asking about SAKs, you're the man!

My new lovelies showed up earlier in the week, didn't have a chance to snap a pic or two until now:

Got this old cross electrician yesterday. It had pretty badly finished blade so I gave it a satin rub (I don’t mind wear and patina but bad attempts to clean blade is not my thing) and sharpened, bent awl that I fixed and gummy action. After soaking it to soap water, drying and oiling it’s nice and snappy again.
It has the old style more squared bottle opener/screwdriver: any idea of the age of this one?

Got a Super Tinker because it's good and was cheap, got an Exec because it's my FAVORITE 74 and I cannot find mine!!! Regular and blue G10 I have.

This one, I have to put a new tip on but it is from '73-''76 according to tang stamp! Cool! Added bonus to the 1970 91mm I have!

I’d say it still could do the same thing it was designed to do. Covid hasn’t gone anywhere despite the fact nobody talks about it aymore. We are having a surge again and had to take few days off work despite having it before.
I’m not sure that thing is so effective but could come handy if there’s that one day you don’t want to take changes like not catching norovirus right before the holidays.

My Minichamp came in! I am gonna put some white pretty scales on it, maybe get one to put G10 on as a real pocket beater. Ohhhh I know I will love this paired with the regular SAK... Or a single blade SAK, or a GEC. Frees up a lot of options in my mind. I know this will be my fave 51mm

It is the original model Minichamp

What is that?
Several Cellidors arrived the last few days so thought I'd post them together.

First a vintage 91mm Fisherman, it has the old awl, square phillips with file, silver head tweezer as well as single spring scissors with clip pen blade and bail:thumbsup:

Also a couple of 84mm small Tinkers, one with shield on the pile side, then the other is a bit older (no tools) with the old awl and clip pen blade as well as the slotted phillips or sometimes referred to as the tin can phillips? due to the slot partially down the center.

The can opener tip was damaged so I re-profiled it so the edge wasn't jagged:)

You can see the light through the slotted phillips

Then a 84mm cellidor Electrician. I like this one, nice and thin and basic tools, Spear, Sheepfoot and Phillips:thumbsup:
