Weren't you just considering 1?Victorinox Wine Master just in from DLT, though it's still a little early in the day to test it out. I'm not sure if there was a mix-up, but it appears much lighter than I expected for walnut, so maybe mine is the olive wood. Box says Walnut though. Either way I'm happy with it.

Fair enough.HAHA! Yea, I posted about considering one in that thread and then had to go back and edit like 5 min later. The post got me searching and I found DLT had a pretty good deal on them, plus I had some points, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger right then and there.
Ordered a couple of the Winter Magic cadets. One to use and maybe mod and one for the collection. Just wish they put the package opener on it. Would’ve bought more if they did.
Yeah, was hoping the package opener would show up in a cheaper knife than that already. Not really making sense to me about the ‘feminine style’ they’re pushing in those new designs.Instead, they put the package opener on those new Style Companions, which I'm definitely not paying $75 apiece for.

Agreed. I’d probably tolerate a bit higher price for the scissors…but want the opener in a sub-$40 knife like a Spartan or Tinker. Or like $100 if it was 84mm in Alox. That was puzzling for me as well, since a couple of the designs are honestly pretty universal. I'd be in for those at like, $45 maybe.
I will admit that I did purchase that wooden scaled model from earlier in the year due entirely to the package opener, but of course, that wasn't exactly inexpensive itself! I don't claim to be right in the head, though. To be a SAK collector, you kinda have to be ready for absurd prices on some things, but of course we all have our own internal math we have to do, you know? I'm still putting the loot together in order to get this year's Damasteel model before they all vanish!Agreed. Lol. I bought that wooden scale Swiss Spirit one too after a fair amount of griping. I don’t even like wood scales, and certainly not a fan of that particular pattern.I will admit that I did purchase that wooden scaled model from earlier in the year due entirely to the package opener, but of course, that wasn't exactly inexpensive itself! SAK collecting isn’t for the sane. I like getting deals, but completely ready for absurd pricing when it comes to antiques or anything I want that is hard to find. Yesterday, I missed out on a c.’78 Golfer with the first combo tool and a nickel silver shield…listed for $10 buy it now. Sadness. I am glad there are some expensive sectors I don’t collect…like you mentioned, damasteel. Yet I completely understand the compulsion.
Now that’s part of what drives the SAK collector crazies…knowing prices are likely to go higher for desirable features and limited production, collectors scoop it all up. I love SwissChamps…my favorite to collect are the first ones with the thin ~2.5mm wide pliers from c. ‘86. Even found one with Staghorn scales…unfortunately no pen.Oh yeah, the Damasteel models get kiiiiiinda crazy. I'm a bonkers SwissChamp fan, and so my first Damasteel model was that one, and the sickness only got worse from there. I'm up to three or four models now. Finding the older previously released models is becoming more difficult as time progresses because most people who snap them up tend to keep them.
