What music have you "re-discovered" lately?

I bought a UFO cd the other day. Man, they don't play stuff like that anymore! How many songs nowadays have guitar solos that are several minutes long. :)

Recently picked up an old Del Vikings with "Whispering Bells" and a "Sunday Kind of Love". Great Doo Wop sounds.

Every now and then I pull out my Essential UFO CD and listen to it for a week or two. This is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. If their lead guitar player hadn't been such a head case they may have become the biggest rock group of all time. He sure can play guitar though. He name is Michael Schenker. I beleive his brother is the lead guitar player for the Scorpions. Highly recommend this album!!

I was stuck in traffic the other day, so had a root through some cds in my glove box & in the rarely used cd changer in my trunk & rediscovered "Credence Clearwater Revival". Wow! What a band, that cd is on almost constantly now!
WOW, what a coincidence, I came in this thread just ready to say ''creedance clearwater revival'', and it was in the first post!! :D

And another mancunian to boot :p

At 16 however, I'm not sure if it would count as ''rediscoved'', or ''discovered''

I've been getting back into older music of all different styles. Misfits, Johnny Cash, Allman Brothers, Run DMC, Hendrix. At the ripe old age of 33, I'm starting to feel that most new music is crap. :) I'm turning into a codger.

I was jammin to some Allman Bros, A Decade of Hits 1969-1979, David Allen Coe, Greatest Hits, and Merle Haggard, Epic Hits on CD's this past weekend. Can't hear that on one radio station:cool:

What do some of you mean that you came back to Hendrix, Clapton, CCR, Bob Seger, Eagles, Manfred Mann, Billy Squire, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Leppelin, Foghat, Van Halen, Heart, Billy Idol, Rush, Stones, The Who, AC/DC ...... the list is endless. You mean you actually left it for something else? I primarily listen to sports talk radio, but when I have music on, it's all the good stuff from my semi-mispent youth. And that doesn't even cover the country music I listened to from back then.

Hi, Jeremy Crushenator. Yep, helluva coincidence. And as you say, another Manc! Welcome! Im in Romiley, Stockport. How bout you?
Im playing the "CCR" cd so much lately, look out for a Red BMW 323 playing it a little TOO loud with the drivers window down & the driver singing along, coz that'll be me!!

Blimey! I forgot about "Heart". They were fantastic. Must revisit some of their stuff, Im also listening to Pat Benatar alot, but never really left her. Her blues album "True Love" is just amazing. Fave track "Paying the cost to be the boss"

I was rummaging around the old stack of CD's this morning before work and rediscovered the album Four by Blues Traveler. Excellent stuff. :D

Rory Gallagher Irish Tour. Not that popular in the U.S., but he truly was one of the greats.

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Offspring's first album (self titled), but I just put it on recently and I've been listening to it quite a bit. Not exactly a classic, but it's a solid CD and it's too bad that the Offspring never made anything else worth mentioning afterwards.

I also had a GNR CD called the "Spaghetti Incident" that I never listened to much when I got it a few years ago, but recently I started listening to it and it's actually a pretty sweet album overall, especially their cover of "Ain't it Fun" by the Dead Boys; it's a great cover.

Oh, and let's not forget about Motown, should have included that in my last post.

wait a sec... offspring's first album was called "offspring's first album"?
that makes me laugh so much my ample belly jiggles!

any of you geezers remember Quicksilver Messenger Service?:D

Back in the days of the Haight, QSM played with the Dead and Janice at places like The Capitol, the Winterland, and the Fillmore West.

Bands like Humble Pie "30 Days in the Hole", Blind Faith "Can't Find My Way Home", Black Sabbath "Fairies Wear Boots", Ten Years After "I'm Goin' Home", Live Grateful Dead concerts from the 70s especially the Winterland, Fillmore and Europe shows, some of the best damn music you can find.

Just pulled out The Outlaws - Bring it back alive.
