What NOT to do in a sales thread.

.
These are NO LONGER Made by Zero Tolerrance--SOLD OUT most places you look..

Not quite right..The 204P 0562CF's ARE made and the standard production model and not rare..its the M390 version that's no longer made..

204P and M390 are virtually the same steels anyway..

The Exchange is still not a discussion forum, enough already. If you want to debate what steel is on what knife take it to the appropriate section and STOP crapping in the sales thread.

Just too bring everyone up too speed
ALL OF THESE Comments
where posted in my Sales Thread
PERFECT example of what PEOPLE NEED NOT do out
of respect for the seller ..let alone..
Common sense and courtesy.........

Wow. Really sorry guy . Just pointing out something that caught my eye. Wasn't trying to piss on anyone's leg. Thanks for making an example of me.

This seems pretty clear to me:

Do not post in a person's thread unless you have an implicit interest in buying the item. Posts like, "Nice knife!", "Why is the price so high/low?", "I wish I had funds" are not allowed. This means absolutely no commentary or feedback in someone's sales thread. Seriously, if you stomp on someone's ad, your account can and will be locked. The only exception to this is in the Knife Makers Market areas (if the maker/craftsman requests and welcomes feedback). Save questions and offers for email rather than cluttering the thread.

No point getting bent out of shape. Yes, it could have been handled a little more gracefully, but moderating is a pretty chappy hobby (pretty sure it is a labor of love, not paid), so the mods will be a bit blunt sometimes.

That said, we do have rules. When you don't follow them, you don't have much room to complain. It looks like the worst thing is that you were called out on an anonymous online forum. Take it with a meh.

Roger that.

The rules on this are incredibly clear, and I am glad they exist because we need them.
A Sales thread is exactly that, nothing more or less.

If you need to make a comment to the seller, use PM or email.

Simple.

It could always be worse, for example getting a 10 point infraction that lasts a whole year. Or even a temp ban for repeated offenses.

Like i said, i got it. No dog pile needed.

It's not a big deal and i wasn't trying to bust the op's balls.

Thanks for your input.

It's actually kind of funny. I have a rule for myself.

Don't sick your nose in other people's business. Had i stuck to that, well, i wouldn't be chatting with you fine folks in this thread.

If I had a listing where a detail that I included was dead wrong, or if my asking price was significantly higher than the price NEW from a dealer, I would want someone to let me know.

That's you. Other sellers might prefer the information offline, especially since it might be wrong, or irrelevant. That kind of post can set off a discussion, which is not appropriate to a sales thread, and can shut down the sale.

I've provided that information to sellers on a few occasions...always via PM.
