What other knives are comparable to CRK knives?

I've got a tolk I would say is as good I prefer the size over the sebenza I actually like my Ti military more as well, I know this will not be a popular opinion in this thread but thats okay.

Rockstead.

I would put Rockstead far above CRK. Not just price either. In every category fine finish and design are far above.
Though truthfully l can't put them in the same class. They're very different styles of knife.

Not interested in argument just my 2¢

I actually agree, but I figured I wouldn't open that can of worms. CRK almost certainly has tighter tolerances but, to be perfectly honest, I'm still wondering what the exact benefits of those tolerances are.

Not sure either. My first Seb 21, a small, and 2nd seb 21, a large, were crazy hard to open with the pivot fully tightened. I had to Lightly sand and polish the washers to get the "sebenza smooth" every one talks about.
Its funny to me that every one raves about them, dont mistake where I am going with this because I really like them, Being like butter right out of the box. That was not my experience with them. They needed a little work just like many other knives.

Aside from the above.....I do not feel that there are many other knives in the same category as the seb. not as far as fit and finish goes, but more along the lines of style and look of the knife.

Heck there are a ton of others that I love more than the CRK. Knives with better steels, more grip options, etc....

Just My 2 Cents.

Speaking only to Production Knives I have owned, the Hinderers I have handled and my Spyderco Southard were on par with the CRKs I have owned in the past.

CRKs are fantastic knives, but they are not the be all end all.

That's a better way to put it.

They really are amazing knives, but definitely not the end all be all. At least not for me.

Funny thing though, there must be CRK nicotine in the Ti slabs.......because I do want another one. Damn thread had to get me thinking about another one. Time to leave.

It depends on what you're talking about, OP. Every brand specializes in doing something different, and I think it's both wrong and nonsensical to put any one brand on a pedestal because of that. It's all a matter of taste.

For fixed blades, CRK is probably the last acclaimed brand I would want. For folders, I prefer something with a more ergonomic and grippy handle, and most of the time, a stronger lock. I have one and exactly one Ti framelock, and that's not going to change anytime soon; they're cool (and let's face it, that's the reason we like them) but not as strong and don't wear as well as a compression lock, Axis lock or a Tri Ad lock. I like more strength, and more importantly for EDC more longevity out of my folder locks.

Yes, a CRK has high tolerances and is expensive. I don't care about that. I'm all about practicality, because when I need a knife, I want a knife that's built to do the job first and look pretty second.

Give me a PM2 or a Recon 1 over a Sebenza any day, and if we're talking Ti framelocks, I'll take my Ti Millie, thanks.

Fixed blades? Yeah, I'd rather a Mora, or a CS Leatherneck if we want to be "tactical".

CRK is famed for their Sebenza and their 1 piece line. They do a great job on their folders. There are brands that make folders that compare but not across the board. AS for fixed blades, I did not find their fixed blades impressive in any way. They were ok.

those knives are cool from lookings.

Personally I have a fear that this thread is going to force me into buying more really nice knives.:(

Folders: Lionsteel: TRE.
Fixed: Spartan Blades: obvious, since the seeked advise form CRK.
