what other traditional kit do you EDC

I always have my AG Russell 2.5 lockback and a Sears 4Way and my P38 in my wallet. Unfortunately my wallet is an Eagle Creek made of Nylon. I need to find a leather wallet that will stash my EDC goodies.

Good thread! Along with my traditional knives, I rotate a Harnhart mechanical circa WWII (with a Steinhart OVM), and my fountain pens of choice .... Parker 51 and Stipula Etruria.

I'm obviously a simple man, although I have had as many as twenty of those dollar thingy's in there at one time.
Usually just one or two though.

If you dump out my pants, theres a couple pounds of stuff in them.

Bandanas. Always have two of them on me. They're so light it's easy to do, and raising kids and then grandkids, a bandana was always needed for something. It make a great makeshift washcloth for a kids face, a sun shield, dust mask, scarf to keep a chill breeze from going down the neck of a jacket on a motorcycle, or even emergency bandage. In cold weather can be tied around head pirate style to cover ears with hat put on top. That way it acts like a hat liner and is surprisingly warm with a standard bucket hat.

P-38. This little thing has been with me since the 60's, and it very well may be the oldest thing I own. It's traveled far with me, opened a zillion cans, screwed screws both flat and phiilips, pried off lids on small cans of putty, plastic wood, varnish.

Carried a Zippo lighter for over 30 maybe 35 years. Got converted to a Bic when I finally got tired of the Zippo running out of fluid with no notice. When I want to smoke my pipe, I want fire. Fire NOW!

Timex watch. I refuse to go digital. I've worn a Timex all my life, and as long as they work, I'll keep on ticking with them. My latest has been over 10 years now.

Pencil. Usually a golf pencil or worn down short pencil about 3 inch long. I like a pencil because I learned form my dad that it has so many uses. It never runs dry, never leaks, what you've written won't run if it gets wet, can write on many surfaces, and can be scraped down for a dry graphite lube if needed. So light weight ands small it goes unnoticed.

Homemade pad to take notes on in my wallet. Fold up a piece of paper 3 or 4 times and put two staples in the top and trim with scissors to business card size and keep in wallet. This will give you a small pad with several pages. Use golf pencil to write notes.

Pipe. Usually a Peterson, but I have a few Ben Wade's around as well as a few Savinelli's. I never leave the house without my pipe and tobacco pouch.

Carl.

I carry a tarnished old bronze zippo and a pair of french folding scissors in my wallet in a small suede snap pouch. they are sharp and SOLID--- solidly built, quality items remind me of the times before throw-away consumerism. and I like that feeling that something is going to go to my kids in working condition.

I carry a manual wind Hamilton pocket watch my parents gave me about 40 years ago when I was in college.

I can't even go into my watch rotation, there's a couple too many to list :D Most are mechanical/automatic, but I have a fair number of quartz, mostly analog but a few digital too, those are ABC (altimeter/barometer/compass) watches that I have with me when camping, just to keep a weather eye out.

Wearing a Wenger right now, very underrated watch brand:

I carry a fisher bullet pen in my wallet and a handkerchief in my other pocket.

Im thinking maybe Fes has got his heritage wrong and isnt carrying the Cossack line of blood in his veins, but Red Indian :D, and if it wasnt for law, there would be a few scalps there as well.

Left pocket, Phone and hand sanitizer. Right, knife and an inhaler. Bandana (for all the reasons Carl stated). Money in the back left. Wallet in the right. Guitar picks and cards in the wallet. My keys, always on my belt, have another small knife, four way screwdriver, flashlight, tweezers. Oh, and some keys.

I carry a couple of solid gold coins in my wallet, to remind me that money should have value.

I only shave with a brush & bowl no canned foam thank you.

One 'traditional' value I won't compromise on: when I drink tea, coffee or cocoa it MUST be in a proper china cup. If it's offered in cardboard, styrofoam, plastic etc 'on the go' it's not worth drinking.

Spoken like a true Englishman. Somehow this makes me have image of Colonial British Officers having proper tea & bisquit break in desert and drinking their ear grey from proper china ware. When I am in woods with drink I carry traditional finnish wooden drinking cup called Kuksa. Had one in army and that same one after 10 years is still kicking hard...

Edit:
This is part of my woods EDC. Part of everykit that I take when I go in woods or such. Has served me entire army. Soaked as many bogs, ditches, ponds and bays as I have. Lucvkily I did oiled it well before use and regularly non-toxic natural oils.

Hello guys. I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet: Hohner Special 20 in a key of C always in my pocket (blues harmonica for those who don't know). Along with Victorinox (usually some 91 mm model, I like Climber and Super Tinker most) it is a great combo for work&relax.

Always have a harp close by, but found in pocket usually gets dented, and collects crud in pocket, I've tried the whole Hohner line and find the Golden Melody to be most responsive, I'm a multi instrumentalist and a blues player.

Hm... other traditionals than knives... let me think...

What I regularly carry is a Zippo lighter (I just own two). And sometimes (depends on the mood), I carry a sniffing tobacco bottle in ceramic or zinc ;) In Bavaria this kind of consuming tobacco is pretty traditional.

Kind regards
Andi

Looks like I am the only guy on the site who uses a clip watch. Never could get used to having something hanging on my wrists.

A small simple pouch (made by my wife in ten minutes) keeps it quite clean. Special 20 and Marine Band (Deluxe model) are my favourites. Golden Melody does not fit in my mouth: harms my lips and catches my moustache:rolleyes: I am going to try some Suzuki soon. And I play harp just for fun whenever there's an occasion, I wouldn't call myself real musician;)

That's cool I have a Hohner pouch, but it looks like a knife pouch, if I'm traveling I'll use that in/on back pack, i've dented too many to keep in pocket, plus i have a ton of other crap in my pockets,if I'm playing I usally will need multiple keys, so I have a Hohner case that holds them all, I use to keep them in a cigar box. I like all the Hohner line, check out the Hohner Koch it's tuned like a diatonic harp but has a slide like a chromatic it's got a cool sound. Harps are great, but they have shot up in price the last few years. :-(

EDC, for me, means
Handgun - Glock 27, w/ spare Glock 22 mag,
Knife - Either a Kershaw Blur, CRKT Ignitor T, or a ZT 350.
Flashlight - Surefire E2e
Watch - Either a Casio G-Shock Mudman, or Omega Seamaster
Key ring - with a P38 and a handcuff key.
