What piece of your lot doesn’t move?

I still wanna see pics of your skirts and chess pieces.

I own hundreds of knives that have never so much as opened an envelope, and most likely never will. I don't have pictures of 'em all, because I'm lazy and won't ever feel like getting them all out of their various chests and drawers at once just to take pics. Why own knives I'll never use? Simple. I like having them, and I am not perturbed by the "USE YOUR STUFF!!!!?!!1!!?!" crowd you sometimes see posting. They're free to use their stuff as they see fit. Me, I just like owning 'em, taking them out to admire every now and then. I have a dedicated core of around 20 knives I actually carry and use, but even those see much more "carry" than "use".

For a large percentage of the population, if you aren't in a kitchen, there isn't much need for a knife, I personally have to look specifically for ways to use them in this world of easy-open, pull-the-tabs, and "presliced for your convenience". Our ancestors used knives to process animals. Most of us "process" Amazon boxes.

But the pictures we all post here sure are pretty!
I have always carried a knife (or two) ever since I was a boy. Don’t use them nearly as hard any more, since I mostly ride a desk chair and run a telephone for work. I always pull certain favorite users and find excuses to use them cooking or eating and especially fishing. As a fellow Eagle Scout, I love it when someone nearby needs a knife and I can live out the “Be Prepared” motto, even if it just to cut a tag off a new pair of socks!

I can say that whatever knife I'm carrying gets used several times a day. But like you, I have a bunch that don't get used, and while I may gift one occasionally, getting rid of them never crosses my mind. I bought them because I wanted them, and a couple hundred knives don't take up that much room.

As much as I like my Spyderco Natives, for some reason I don't carry them much at all. I can't even blame it on the FRN handles, because I have Delica's & other models with it & I carry them.

So says the title above---
name a piece of the lot that does not see rotation or use; why is optional but welcome.
If they all skirts, please name that popular chess piece
For me, no piece currently sits sedentary,
however I find myself constantly grabbing a Victorinox Synergy, and i have not babied it, wonderful steed of a blade.

He’s simply asking if you have safe queens or pieces you don’t carry. Also asking why if you want to add that in.

All of my folders have seen pocket time. Can't evaluate the design if you don't actually use them.

Some of my fixed blades have not been carried because I'm a "senior" urban homeowner and I don't have any use for them. I just bought them because I liked them.

That being said, I own way too many knives to carry them all on a regular basis. So I have a lot of knives which, having been used and evaluated, spend most of their time in "the pile". Every once in a while I may pull one out to carry it to refresh my memory of its strengths and weaknesses. And that memory refreshment is why I keep them instead of selling them.

The one that does not get used anymore is my large sebenza 31 unique graphics, I did use it a time or 2 I even cut wood to make a fire with it. But it took a long time to get rid of the little scratches that occured. I also have an old Fury that never sees use as I bought it for the etching on the blade. I also have an engraved Buck 110 that has never even cut paper.

I have a lot of fixed blades that never get carried for the same reason.

Replace "hundreds" with "a hundred fitty-ish" and "around 20" with "around 10", and yep, ditto!

I never carry this knife, that would be illegal in my state. But it's no safe-queen either. It gets fired several times everyday. I don't need to carry or use it to appreciate it. I appreciate it for what it is, and for the fact that I was the one who converted it into a switchblade, something I had dreamed of doing for several years.

I have some emotional support knives too

Some are old and I don't want to trash them. Some suck as a tool but they look cool or are fun to fidget with.

One example of mental illness, this Buck 112, is just so perfect in every way that I don't want to mess it up. I don't know if that makes any sense or not. Its so nice, so smooth and so well put together that I actually bought another one to use hoping it would be flawed and I could carelessly beat on it.
