What piece of your lot doesn’t move?

Ive had "unintentional" safe queens when I bought two Spartan blades daggers. needless to say they weren't used and sat around. I sold both but wished I kept the Harsey dagger, but i do my best to use everything I have--- however try as i might, we all know how the song goes

I have a few I don't use, but mostly because I don't have a need to use them often. A couple 3 inch blades just in case I will be heading to one of the cities with a 3 inch limit. I don't go or even pass through often so they just sit in the drawer. My outdoor knives don't get used much, because I'm not outdoors as often as I'd like to be. And of course the ones that I thought I'd like and carry more but found them to just not be as useful. Like the Benchmade 275. A big, and very thick folder that I didn't like carrying as much as the 710 or now a SHF.
And then of course there's the problem of having too many to bother deciding what to carry. My only rotation right now is between two knives, a SHF most of the time, and a Bugout when I'm in a city with a 3.5 inch limit, which is daily. A lot of I guess you could call them "retired," since I've replaced them as normal users.

I mainly carry one of a few different SAKs every day, and add a larger knife like a Sebenza or maybe a big auto. Beyond that, maybe 80% of my knives are either essentially expensive but useful paper weights, or art speculation. Why? I’m a creature of habit and tend to stick to the same gun, knife, watch, etc… long term with occasional detours. YMMV

As suspected, it's Melanias all the way down.

As for lots, I own mine. Got the deed and everything. Now stay the f$%^ off my lawn.

The Giant Mouse group. I like ‘em, the steel (Magnacut & Elmax) is great, they all exhibit terrific actions and they’re relatively attractive. There’s eight of them…..they sit in the glass case day after day. I make a decision to carry one prior to the coming day and I inevitably pick up something else first thing in the morning. The only thing I can think of is I just have too many options that I prefer. Or perhaps I simply have no self control. 😎

Now I m actually going to count and see how many knives I have this weekend.

I usually get a backup for a knife I really like. Which means a lot of back ups..

And I ve never sold a knife, though I ve given a few away.

Best guess, 200-250. Don t tell my family. Maybe I shouldn't count them, just look at them all.

I own hundreds of knives that have never so much as opened an envelope, and most likely never will. I don't have pictures of 'em all, because I'm lazy and won't ever feel like getting them all out of their various chests and drawers at once just to take pics. Why own knives I'll never use? Simple. I like having them, and I am not perturbed by the "USE YOUR STUFF!!!!?!!1!!?!" crowd you sometimes see posting. They're free to use their stuff as they see fit. Me, I just like owning 'em, taking them out to admire every now and then. I have a dedicated core of around 20 knives I actually carry and use, but even those see much more "carry" than "use".

For a large percentage of the population, if you aren't in a kitchen, there isn't much need for a knife, I personally have to look specifically for ways to use them in this world of easy-open, pull-the-tabs, and "presliced for your convenience". Our ancestors used knives to process animals. Most of us "process" Amazon boxes.

But the pictures we all post here sure are pretty!
Spoken so eloquently, I couldn't have explained that any better! 🤣
