What plans for 2024?

I am basically done with my collection. I have several complete sets, that I keep an eye on incase the manufacturer adds on to it.

For example. Smooth bone handled Bucks. This is the complete Bass Pro set. If they release another I’m buying.

I’d like to buy more vintage octagon TC Contender barrels, so I’m always looking for good deals on calibers I don’t have. View attachment 2440269
Plus I have a Truck and a jeep that need work.

Looking back on my life. Even years have been better for me than the odd ones. I’m happy to start 2024.

Just finished a 16 month project and am jumping into a new one for the next 10-12 months. Day 2 of the walk through I opened material with a fixed blade which usually isn’t an issue working construction but the white hard hats are around every corner and have silly rules. So from last week and probably until 2025 the knife goal will be to get used to 3” or less blades.

The other goals are the same as they’ve always been. Be better today than you were yesterday…..and don’t die
 
I've purchased quite a few recently and really the goal is to buy less next year. I want to focus more on playing with different edges on the knives I have to boost performance and just see what they can really do. I only really sharpened maybe 2 of my knives this year from use. I would like to do more use with the same knives next year.
 
I went crazy at the end of the year because of I started carrying my gayle bradley 2 and realized how much I live the thing and then BHQ releases a cruwear version.

For 2024 I have a lead on a fluted Titanium Spyderco Military. If I the deal works, that will be my first purchase. Im hoping a liner lock military sprint will happen. If so, and I like it, then I will buy one or two. Otherwise there are two pistols that my fin money will likely go to. Just need to figure out which one of the two I will buy.
 
I would like to get a few discontinued knives (ATR 2, Contego, BK15 specifically), maybe find some scales or other hardware for my carry rotation. I want to get a new strop and some low grit diamond paste as a maintenance experiment. This might be the year I try either a Hapstone or TSProf as an upgrade from my beloved KME. I will continue to bring in a few budget knives that interest me and give them to teammates or friends that need them. I have settled into a particular tier of knives and carrying habits, but I may add a fun little OTF or balisong to the two folders. I will continue to try to get people into knives, if only by showing them the utility of having one and explaining the attributes required for the bare minimum of that Platonic ideal, the Decent Knife. I will continue to sharpen knives for friends and coworkers. I will continue to lurk on these forums, as you guys have taught me so much over the years.
 
I have a number of new designs in my head.
I want to work out what my basic steel is going to be (I like Too many).
I want to challenge myself more.
I want to improve efficiencies.
Id like to meet even more of you all.....

I’ll be watching Case’s vault release. If it’s something I like I’ll buy one. Possibly pick up another Spyderco in 2024. Likely something fully serrated.
I’ve definitely slowed down on buying. I was recently looking for a particular knife used on the bay. I found the exact model in my knife cabinet. I didn’t even know I had it. That’s a pretty solid hint that I might have enough.
Like some others have mentioned I’m focusing more on using what I have and experience’s going forward.

I of course meant no more money on folding knives! I have plans to spend some with you!
 
Probably pick up another tomahawk or two.
Having bought a house earlier this year my knife purchasing has all but stopped. The holidays and a birthday did find me receiving a Boye Basic 3, a Spartan SHF and an American Tomahawk model 1.
I definitely want to pick up some silver as I find good ‘deals’.
I can’t speak to any actual knives at this point.

I wasn't"calling you out" I honestly thought you were joking. It's not easy to make changes like that.

I've pared down my collection his year. Gave away 7 knives and sold several.
 
Planning to sell several to pare things down a bit. Know of 2 new ones that will be coming in, but no idea beyond that.
