What Pocket Do You Carry Your Traditional Knife In?

For most knives, rear pocket vertically beside my wallet. Usually left rear pocket but I sometimes switch up. Typical carry size in the 3 1/2" to 4" closed range. I don't wear jeans often but when I do I'll sometimes carry a smaller knife in the watch pocket.

Usually a 3.5" or 4" stockman in a leather pocket slip, left hand front pocket. A smaller size, like a TC Barlow in my watch pocket.

Left front. It was right front in the pre-cell phone days, but the phone makes more sense to me in that pocket so the knife had to migrate.

Right front, always... Well, from time to time I reach for it, it's gone, a moment of dread, then I realize it's snuck it's way into my left front somehow.

Stainless (usually a Sak) in My left front pocket and carbon steel on my right front pocket unless it is my schatt Morgan wildcat driller in ATS 34 it gets treated as carbon steel

(Still) Watch pocket. Often carry a second knife in the RF pocket below my watch pocket.

Front right pocket, alongside a pen clipped to the top and my phone and keys. If two, one in each front pocket. If I absent mindedly use it and don't concentrate when putting it away it will get put away in my left jacket pocket and I will do the self-pat-down next time I need the thing!

I tried a pocket slip for the folders, but I think mine just aren't nice enough that I'm that concerned about them rattling about in my pocket with other stuff.

If I need a fixed blade it's right-side belt carry (although more likely to sit in a bag until needed), but I'm very tempted to make a pocket sheath for my BHK patch knife with either pen / card holding space, or for it to be a double sheath for the BHK and the Boker Gnome (my traditional / modern pairing for fine slicing and a bulkier, pointier blade).

Relatively typical for me in the house is Svord Peasant Mini front right pocket, Opinel No. 8 alternating between front left and the chopping board.

Front right pocket has my SAK Pioneer and SAK Executive...constant companions, tool boxes really, the Executive I have a soft slip sheath to both protect and help it from sliding out and down into a couch or chair and keep dust bunnies out.
The watch pocket is home to smaller knives, Case Tuxedo, or today I have an Opinel Slim #8, a bit long but it's slim enough to fit in there.
On my right side belt is usually one of the Le Thiers by Chambriard, I've a choice of two sizes fortunately also a few scales to chose from, usually the stag's win the day, as today the small Le Compact in Stag rides with me to work.

The other pockets may see non-traditional knives but just the right front gets the good stuff ;) and the belt is home for the other larger or just handier method of carrying them.

I carry my peanut in my watch pocket. Any other traditional i carry goes in the front right pocket.

I want to know specifically where and how (sheath, no sheath etc) people carry their "good" traditionals. I can't find a thread on it, but don't feel like I should start one with similar type threads already up. The reason I want to know is because I only have one knife that I'm afraid to mar up too badly (GEC SFO #15 Sheepfoot smooth ivory bone), and I want to know how much damage it will receive if I don't use a sleeve and/or put it in a pocket with other items.

Any information or advice would be appreciated!

I have the same knife, carry it in my watch pocket, where I generally carry a knife. I think it'll be OK there.

Right front, always... Well, from time to time I reach for it, it's gone, a moment of dread, then I realize it's snuck it's way into my left front somehow.
Right front here also but have had that moment of dread too.....sneaky buggers.:)

Ding ding ding...we have a winner!

The correct answer is all of them. :D

I wholeheartedly agree! :D

Even though I'm right handed, I tend to carry all the usual day to day stuff in my right front pocket (keys, change, comb, Bic), so my traditional rides in my left front pocket with a bandanna ala' Carl to keep it in place. For my work khakis, I only carry one, but when I get home and change into jeans I add a smaller folder (< 3 1/4") to my watch pocket. My All American carpenter jeans have tool pockets, so I can't help but add another, usually a Mercator, also now my Cognet l'Ecureil Squirrel, or other longer knife to one of them. Occasionally I put my Case Backpocket in, my back pocket ;) Almost forgot, an Opinel No 6 will ride in the other tool pocket of the carpenter jeans, and a SAK (Huntsman, Swisschamp, Trekker) in a pouch on my belt.

I have one of those "clip sheaths" which works nice for a single blade trapper (CSC Half Moon, Scagel), sometimes I clip that to my left front pocket also. My wife just shakes her head..

Wear Wrangler Pro-Rodeo jeans most days, 3-1/4" - 4" pocketknife in the bottom of my left front pocket, cellphone on top. When I wear dress slacks I use the same pocket, but carry a pen knife and no cellphone. OH
