What Pocket Do You Carry Your Traditional Knife In?

Jeans, pocket pants, khakis, dress pants. Most pockets have a knife in them ... Main EDC in right front pocket, large folder in back right pocket. OHO sometimes in right back pocket, clipped, with the large slipjoint. I might have my peanut with me outside work, usually left at home, but I do use my watch pocket in my jeans for smaller knives. Left pockets are usually reserved for money clip, leather medicine bag (my passed sisters rosary, mane and tail from my fathers appaloosa , blessed by a couple Holy men of different faiths), and wallet. I usually have my #15 barehead boys knife, my Tribal Spear and an OHO, with a classic on my key ring, attached to a carabiner clip.

I want to know specifically where and how (sheath, no sheath etc) people carry their "good" traditionals. I can't find a thread on it, but don't feel like I should start one with similar type threads already up. The reason I want to know is because I only have one knife that I'm afraid to mar up too badly (GEC SFO #15 Sheepfoot smooth ivory bone), and I want to know how much damage it will receive if I don't use a sleeve and/or put it in a pocket with other items.

Any information or advice would be appreciated!

It looks like my problem in searching was that I was using "traditional" rather than "slipjoint" and "sleeve" rather than "pocket sheath". I don't have the vocabulary absolutely down yet haha

You're welcome! "Searching" can often be as much art as science, and it almost always helps having read or noticed a thread earlier to get close(r) to applicable search terms-- which of course is no help to new readers(!). In this case, "pocket sheath" did the trick.

I didn't realize it was an (easy) option, either, until someone pointed it out to me.

Thread content: the only pocket I tend not to carry a knife in is my right back pocket, where I usually keep my iPod Touch.

I very occasionally carry a knife in my right back pocket, but not in the left back (Left Back was my old soccer position - Left back in the changing rooms! )

Thank you for all the great information, again. I'm carrying my knife in a sleeve in my watch pocket, like usual. Only one knife today.

Usually right front pocket. Other situations include a very small knife in the watch pocket, a sodbuster in the back pocket or whichever knife in the inside pocket of my Carharrt jacket.

Same here. Pemberton (small) in watch pocket. The main EDC in right front (alone without other items).
