What Post Apocalyptic Vehicle ?

You guys dream too much:D I'd just stop by the nearest gravel yard and snag a big ol' track-hoe:thumbup: a little armour on the cab, and you get to squish your way to freedom!
 
If the SHTF and I need to bug out, I'll take the car as far as it'll take me, but from there on, I'm on my mountain bike. With rack and panniers, its impressive how much gear you can haul on a decent bike
 
The Lenco Bearcat is about as close to my idea of what a Revengemobile should be. All it needs is a Vulcan cannon.

Its funny but im actualy starting to fix up my mountain bike just for that . I figured a bike worked in WW1 in WW2 Korea Vietnam. There got to be something to it. In case of an earthQuake im going to my parents house. Im working on water storage. food and cooking. Got tarps and everything else we might need. Next come solar panels and battaries. Thats for my real world ideas. But even on the bike i would carry a bob that is if have to just walk or run.

I would pick a Moped for a number of reasons:

#1: Wouldn't be disabled by an EMP
#2: Has the mobility of a bicycle (you can go off road and past obstacles etc). This is one of the most crucial parts. In reality, you wont be trying to blast through barricades but trying to get past traffic jams.
#3: It is EASY to work on and carry spare parts for
#4: With saddle bags you can carry quite a bit + backpack
#5: You can power it with your feet if you run out of fuel (this is HUGELY important)
#6: MPG will be awesome during a time when fuel is precious.
#7: This list goes on and on. What an amazing SHTF vehicle this is!

i'd want a horse or three.

fuel would rapidly become a very rare and sought after commodity in any post-apocalypic scenario.
