Valid point I was thinking country of origin/where it was made. This is actually a hard question to answer because it depends on how you classify favored region. Do you mean style, country or origin, or manufacturer country of headquarters? If you go strict country of origin, most of my knives are Asian, with the bulk being like a 70/30 split between China and Taiwan. If you mean style, I'm almost exclusively western styled. If you mean manufacturer country of headquarters, then I'm almost entirely US based.
Interesting.... it would take quite an effort to calculate a percentage for me.52.9% American
Do you think he took into account the size of the blade and was it based on dimensions or volume? If you listed all your knives and the county of origin in a spreadsheet a simple count function with basic math could get to this number easy. If the volume is low won't even need the count functions.Interesting.... it would take quite an effort to calculate a percentage for me.
I’m down to 17 users, folding and fixed. Wasn’t too hard.Interesting.... it would take quite an effort to calculate a percentage for me.
Strictly based on number of knives per origin.Do you think he took into account the size of the blade and was it based on dimensions or volume? I agree. But I don't have a spread sheet with all of my knives. I started a summary document a couple years ago, but there is a lot of stuff from prior to that time that I generally don't even look at let alone fondle.Do you think he took into account the size of the blade and was it based on dimensions or volume? Can't say mine particularly favors one region. Right now, heaviest rotation is made up of blades from Taiwan, Japan, Italy and the U.S.
I don't honestly pay too much attention to country of origin when I buy, though I'll admit I'm still a bit more wary of unfamiliar Chinese brands than others as I'd rather not unknowingly pick up a clone.

I dont have 'a collection' with anything resembling a regional theme. What Region does your collection favor?
