Americas with most of my collection beeing Spydercos, CRKs, ZTs and Benchmades

This is actually a hard question to answer because it depends on how you classify favored region. Do you mean style, country or origin, or manufacturer country of headquarters? If you go strict country of origin, most of my knives are Asian, with the bulk being like a 70/30 split between China and Taiwan. If you mean style, I'm almost exclusively western styled. If you mean manufacturer country of headquarters, then I'm almost entirely US based.
Valid point I was thinking country of origin/where it was made.

Mostly American with 2 ZT’s a GEC and 3 CRK’s. The less expensive knives are mostly Chinese made.

Interesting.... it would take quite an effort to calculate a percentage for me.
Do you think he took into account the size of the blade and was it based on dimensions or volume? If you listed all your knives and the county of origin in a spreadsheet a simple count function with basic math could get to this number easy. If the volume is low won't even need the count functions.

I’m down to 17 users, folding and fixed. Wasn’t too hard.:)

Strictly based on number of knives per origin.

I agree. But I don't have a spread sheet with all of my knives. I started a summary document a couple years ago, but there is a lot of stuff from prior to that time that I generally don't even look at let alone fondle.

I'm in the process of creating a detailed inventory on my laptop, instead of writing them down on a legal pad. Will know after it's done, but I suspect Spain has the top spot, followed closely by USA and China. A scatter of Russian, Italian, Argentinian, Salvadorian, Finnish and Japanese blades too.

Can't say mine particularly favors one region. Right now, heaviest rotation is made up of blades from Taiwan, Japan, Italy and the U.S.

I don't honestly pay too much attention to country of origin when I buy, though I'll admit I'm still a bit more wary of unfamiliar Chinese brands than others as I'd rather not unknowingly pick up a clone.

Well said, sir. Spot on for me, too.

You may be way over thinking the question. o_O:D
I’m kidding. I guess throwing those elements in could change someone’s answer. It would still be mostly U.S. for me.

You need to add South Africa to the poll. I have Burger knives, Charl Pienaar knives, a Gareth Bull, and a South African designed CRK ... in fact all CRKs are consistent with the South African design aesthetic.

It's either Japan or America.
Japan because something like half or more of my Spydercos are made there, plus the Al Mar and Mokis. Well they were all made by Moki.
America because of my traditionals - Queen, Case because of ubiquity and ease of finding patterns, & GEC. Then one of my Spydercos.

I'm assuming you mean place of manufacture.

After that, in order - China, France & Italy, Germany and Taiwan.

For pocket knives.
For kitchen knives, Japan by far.

I voted American, however I do get curious when I see Latin American names or nations. And lately I am seeing good examples coming from Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.
