Nice selection.I was never a big fan of Buck before but I am learning to appreciate them more lately. When I was younger all of my friends had them. I had to be different so I went with Gerber. I had some really nice ones in the past.
I'd have to say that right now my favorites are the old USA Schrades and Old Timers. The 1095 they used is by far my favorite steel. I carried a 125OT from the time I was six, I found it at the park near my house, until I was out of high school. The Sharpfinger is perhaps my all time favorite design.

great collection John, I'm looking forward to my orange g10!!! used the pack axe you made for me today to do some maintenance in the yard
it made easy work of a tree today. very very impressed.
P.S. sent the paypal payment hope it came through.

In the last six months, I`ve sold my USA Schrade collection, probably at least 50 of them, Old Timers, Uncle Henry, and Craftsman.

Payment did come through, and 110 is shipping Monday.

I gotta say my favorite are Vic SAKs.
Then US made Kershaws.
I threw in the ZT 'cuz it's just a Kershaw on steroids.;)
Then Bucks.
That poor 110,I tried to make it a one hand opener by cutting some grooves in the top of the blade with a dremmel cut off wheel, but the spring is so strong I can only get it open one handed when I've had my wheaties & I don't like wheaties any more.

I EDC the black Shallot & stay glow Rambler.

Nice collection John.

I suppose I'm a little difficult to pin down when it comes to favorites, as I have several favorites.

For pocket knives - slip joints - I would guess it is either Buck or Boker. I really like the stockman pattern, so most of my pocket knives are stockmans. I also like the sodbuster pattern, so I do have several of those (from different makers).

My favorite stockman is a Schrade Old Timer. I just love that pattern and the style.

My most prized pocket knife is a limited edition Schrade Old Timer from 1974. I bought it mostly for sentimental reasons, as it is very close (in looks) to the knife I got from my grandfather's estate (which I lost).

My most carried pocket knife is a Buck 371. Yes, I know it was made in China - but I vastly prefer it to the American made 301 (which I also have).

I also like the alox Vic SAK's quite a lot, but would have to say I prefer the stockman's if ever so slightly.

I'm not into folders - lock-backs, liner-locks, and the like - so I don't have a favorite in that category.

As for fixed blades, my favorite production brand is probably Ahti.

My most prized fixed blade is a PAL that I traded for back in the 1970's. It is beat up and hard used, but holds a lot of sentimental value (for me) because my friend (who traded it to me) is no longer living. That knife is now retired and only comes out to be maintained.

My favorite fixed blade user was the R. Murphy version of the Canadian Belt knife - but John knocked that one out of the lineup.

My most carried pocket knife is a Buck 371.

Mine too. It`s my "workhorse" knife. Cuts leather, scrapes glue and kydex, gets beat, but comes back for more. I believe it`s outdoorfan`s choice too. I`ll try to get some photos of the small folders, the old black micarta Kalinga, and the 10" blade bowie tomorrow.

I adore SAKs. Carry one daily. I used to have a Buck 110, but not as easy to carry in my pocket.

John. In your third picture. The middle knife, is that a 121?

Yes it is, it`s a pre 1980 I got it off the exchange here last week, it arrived yesterday. It was pretty scruffy, but a few minutes on my 3M Scotchbrite belts and the buffer, and it looks pretty good.

Cool, it looks really good to me. I have just recently discovered them. Had I payed attention years ago I'm sure I'd be a major Buck fan.

Im a big fan of ESEE and I carry a 4 on my belt every day and lately an Izula II as well. I really like my Buck 110 though as well.

My favorite factory knife would be my Ka-Bar Mule. Big, heavy folder worn on the right that nicely offsets the Leatherman Surge on my left.

Hi John -

I have to say the Buck 112 - I have a lot of history with those.

Kershaw is probably my next favorite, and the one that I carry the most.

I love Case knives, and I am developing a taste for GEC's.

I also really like Victorinox.

I am afraid I can find something good in almost all of them!

best regards-

mqqn

I'm afraid I don't have access to my pictures at the moment (they are on the other computer) but my favorite factory knife is probably my late 1930's KA-BAR hunting knife--it makes me sad that the handle totally gave out and I don't have any way to rehandle it.

It seems like Victorinox is a favorite of many. I still have mabe a dozen of them, but my favorite for outdoors is my black handle Forester. I carried a Soldier for about 9 years, and still have it. Three of my four grandkids have Soldiers with their date of birth year (poor Emily does not, they discontinued it) and all four have a Buck 110 with the date code for their year of birth.

I don't think I have a favorite company, I have favorite knives though. I have been cleaning out my production folders recently as well. The few I have kept are: Kershaw Leek, Kershaw Oso, Benchmade mini-grip, Benchmade Nagara, Spyderco Delica 4, Spyderco Tenacious, Boker Eskaliber, Buck 422 - so no one company stands out. There are a few more I hope to try out some day like the Benchmade 707 and Kershaw skyline but I'm less interested at the moment.

As for fixed blades I'd also have to say Esee, the Izula II and the esee 3 are favorites.

I have a standard 3 layer SAK as well that has been a god friend, although i was hoping another might turn up for Christmas as well as a buck 301.
