What`s Your Favorite Factory Knife?

My favorite production single knife would probably be a ESEE Junglas. Company would be Condor or Victorinox. My dad and brother love Buck knives, and I like a few of them. They just aren't the top of my list. (At least, not at the time)

Tough question! There are so many that I don't know if I can narrow it down to just one, or even just one per category.

Folder: Probably a tie between the Spyderco Delica and the Kershaw Leek. The Delica uses better steel and easier to close; the Leek is faster to open and a tad more compact. Runner Up: SAK Farmer.

Small Fixed Blade: Probably the Busse Bony Active Duty. Runner Up: Tie, Falkniven F-1, ESSE 3 & KoA Alpha Wolf. Of course, maybe it's a stretch to call Busse a Factory Knife...

Large Fixed Blade: RAT-7. Although maybe the ESEE 6 or Junglas might be better, just haven't had a chance to compare them.

I must know what model the top knife is. I have a thing for spear points lately. I have not seen one with a guard like that before. Thanks!

Mines probably got to be Schrades older models, like the Frontier line! I have a fairly nice collection of several different models of these but the the Frontier, double bladed, 5-1/4", Folding Hunter is probably my favorite!

That`s a very early Buck 124 Frontiersman that I picked up with a snapped off tip. So of course I reground it!

Of course its a vintage Buck and pretty rare! Its a beautiful knife and thanks for the info.

John is the knife in the middle a Vanguard? I really like the shape of the blade. What do you think of the knife in overall use?

Not my picture but this was my favorite hunting knife. I skinned a bobcat, a deer and coyotes with it. I loaned it to a friend one time and I think his son in law took it. I'd love to have it back.

Those are worth some big money now!

Nice collection!!

Made me go find my old Buck 110 I got when I was a kid.. damn those things are heavy, but built very well. May have to check out a few more.

Of today's makers, I like Spyderco and Bark River the most.

When I bought it in 1984ish it was by far the most expensive knife I'd ever bought. They were a really nice knife. Perhaps I'll have you make me a replacement.

It seems like Victorinox is a favorite of many. I still have mabe a dozen of them, but my favorite for outdoors is my black handle Forester. I carried a Soldier for about 9 years, and still have it. Three of my four grandkids have Soldiers with their date of birth year (poor Emily does not, they discontinued it) and all four have a Buck 110 with the date code for their year of birth.
I EDC an ALOX Soldier ! it's my favorite "pocket knife". As for "pocket knives, Vict. SAK's are my first choice. Locking folders - Spyderco is my all time favorite, I EDC a Spyderco Endura4 PE Waved . Production Fixed - KA-BAR / Beckers & Condor Tool & Knife !

I like the William Henry B-15 series and the Camillus CUDA MAXX and MADD MAXX models.

Hi guys -

I wanted to post a picture of the knife I have been carrying the most recently, my Kershaw Tilt - this knife has all the high-tech tricks (cf,ti,composite blade, IKBS) and is a great cutter/slicer. I bought it for $215, and now I see some being sold on the 'bay for an ask of $350 to $400! I think there are somewhere around 100 of these out in the wild.

Hey mykel m - in your third picture, the 110 - it looks like it has been modded to have some cuts on the side of the blade to allow for one-handed thumb-opening - did you do that?

Afraid so Andy.I mangled it pretty good. The groves were done with a dremil & are uneven.
I did it back when one hand opening knives & pocket clips were becoming popular.I have a drilled & taped hole on the other side for a clip also.(one hole,so the clip kept pivoting on me.:o)
What can I say..it was my first knife mod.
The strong back spring makes it very hard to get the blade out with the shallow groves too.A stud would have been way better, but I couldn't find the add on types I had seen in one of my catalogs at the time.

Diggin that Tilt Andy.Does it have speed safe?

Hi mykel -

The Tilt does not have any assisted opening, but with the ball-bearing pivot system (IKBS), it is more free-wheeling than any knife I have ever held. It has a flipper tang, and it flies out with authority.

best regards

Emerson is my favorite factory knife. My favorite knife is the Super Commander.

Here's my shadow IV along with a new model ruger vaquero.

My favorite factory folders are bucks. Due mainly to one knife, the buck vantage select. It's uncanny how smooth this knife is and how tight it locks up. Alot of knife for 25 bucks.
