I really like how the scales feel on the Evogrip series, I have both a S101 and S557.Vic Evo 14 today. (stock Amazon photo) Mine has the keyring removed and nub ground off for a slicker feel in the pocket.

I'm totally not an expert on the subject but I believe they are still issued to swiss soldiers so I guess they are still making them. My newest one is a 2019. A Victorinox store here in Australia still lists them for sale. I hope this helps.I completely forgot about the 08 soldier Model. Are they still being produced/sold by victorinox?
