The fire trucks just left. A stupid mistake and my shop and barn are gone. Luckly the house is fine. Kind of beside myself at this time. Be carefull! You wouldn't believe how fast a fire goes when its hot.......

O No Ray, I'm really sorry to hear this. I'm sure glad your home wasn't damaged. I'm thinking of you.

Bill

Here's whats left. My anvils look like there in good shape. I really don't think I have a hammer with a handle. There's my brand new forging press...

Raymond, Im sorry to hear of the bad news. Were You working in the shop at the time? Thank God You wernt hurt.

Ray my prayers are with you. I'm so sorry you've had such misfortune but I'm thankful no one was harmed. How can we help?

Anyone care to jump in and help Ray replace some of his stuff? Maybe there's a local builder's supply we can send credits to or something.

I was in the shop working on a new quench tank. I had the shop door open and I was using a angle grinder. I just wasn't paying attention. The sparks from the grinder ignited the hay a good 12 feet away. I was grinding away and noticed the air getting extrely hot and looked up. I grabbed my quench bucket and threw it on the fire but it was to little to late. As I'm writting this I just remembered the fire extingwisher was right by the door. I had my riding lawn mower next to the hay and pushed it out of the way and moved my truck that was right next to the shop. Even at 50' my truck had heat damage. Monday I'll get hold of the insurace company and see what they are going to cover. I've got a feeling my shop tools won't be covered. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I've never experieced a fire like this. What an eye openner......
