Ray,

This is a pretty handy bunch...when you are ready...maybe it will be time for good ole fashioned "roof raising"?

I'm not much of a carpenter...but I'll be happy to make the trip...to lend a hand....

Let us know what kind of stuff you need to get rolling again...

Shane

Shane, great idea. I'd like to help with this also. I'm not a knifemaker so I can't help from that end of things but I can do the manual labor thing.

Count me in.

Ray, I am heartsick to hear of your loss. The afternoon I spent in that barn was magic. But as has already been noted, the heart and soul of that shop is still with us .... and we'll rejoice when you are back to making those magical knives and hawks again. O-o-o-o-o-o that voodoo that you do with steel. ;)

I'm living closer to you now than when I visited. So like Shane and SAK, I'll load up my toolbelt and be there in a heartbeat if I can help. Lemme know.

Ray,

Glad to hear that the insurance adjuster sounds like he's on your side. That's one less thing to worry about.

Like some of the other guys have mentioned, I'm close enough to lend a hand, so when you're ready for some help just say the word!

Whether it's salvage, site prep, building or moving, I'd be honored to do whatever I can. In fact, if I hear that you needed help and didn't let me know, you're going to have one mighty grumpy friend on your hands.

Take it easy and let us know when we can help.

- Mike :)

Mike, You know where I live. I just started this morning getting the steel roofing and siding straightened out and in piles. I believe I found a fellow who'll haul it away.

A dump truck and a loader sure would be handy to get the hay out of here but I'll settle for a few p/up's. I just plan to move the hay down to another section of my land and let it compost. Only problem is there's ruffle 8 tons of it.

I just got off the phone with the adjuster and things sound pretty promising but I still have my fingers crossed.

IG, RokJoc and the rest. Good to hear from you! RokJoc where'd you finally end up at? IG about time you got your butt back........

Hi Ray, Good to hear that things are shaking out fairly quickly for you. Hope to see you at Blade West, if not sooner.

I now live between that Nick Wheeler young'n and Olympia. I'm trying to adjust to the decompression of getting out of the metro area (full of seriously self-induced stress-monkeys who've over-scheduled their lives) into a laid back rural area. Grew up in a country setting, so in some ways it's like returning home. Had a doe (muley, I think) wander through the neighbor's horse pasture next to our house the other morning and a big ol' rooster pheasant that thinks he owns my back yard come sun-up most mornings. That's country 'nough for me.

RokJok, Sounds like you got in a good area. We've got the neighbor's chickens that think they own the place. I thought after the fire they would have headed one neighbor to the east but the darn things are still here. The hay I had in the barn was there after dark hangout. Now its right next to my bedroom window. I think they feel safe hearing me snore. Shot me an email if you still have my address.

Ray do you at least get the eggs layen on your ground ? :D

Ray, I don't know you personally but I would be glad too help if I can. And like everyone else I am glad to hear the most important things are ok.

Dan, I found one egg yesterday under one of the pieces of steel roofing. They had a nest in the hay before the fire. There was one chicken that was setting on the nest all the time. I replaced the eggs with rocks and she didn't know the difference.
