What should I get 1st a CRK Sebenza or a Strider SNG?

Why do people have to come into a General Discussion thread and trash it, start tough talking and all that? I intentionally left out other reasons for not buying Strider and mentioned Customer Service.

I agree with Folderguy. Why not keep that stuff in the back room? I noted that the hated (IMO) jerkit is now marked W&C Only. Maybe Spark wants us to behave like human beings.

+1

Buy a Sebenza with S35VN, some kind of inlay and the gold thumbstuds. ;)

I don't agree with FG. You agree with him being childish and instigating? The responses below from him are basically a weak attempt to provoke. Sam just stated his opinion, nothing more, like it or not. Not everyone thinks the same, others have reasons for what they feel and vote with their dollars.

I have no badger in this honey. Aside from the fact that if someone has an opinion, they can and should be able to state it without being pelted with non-witty sarcasm so long as it is within the rules and without having to ask permission of the newer ranks.
My concern isn't what you think.

Enjoy yourself.

Your post above was over the line, pal.

Glad to hear that.

As far as dirt goes, you obviously have a bit of experience in detecting that stuff.

I'd appreciate it if you'd keep your comments clean, out here, which by definition is not in the Cove.

Is he a decent fellow, by your standards?

And where do the vaunted Hinderers rank on your esteemed hierarchy?

Calm down and stick to the subject without the insults towards each other.
Fact is character means something to some and does not come into play in the decisions of others.

No reason on earth to disrespect each other over that.

Overkill, Gus. We've already taken the discussion to where it belongs, as I'm sure you're aware. But I appreciate your good intentions.

Why do people come to a thread that's asking about SnGs and Sebenzas and start talking about Benchmades?

All other issues aside, I have had several of all three brands, and fit and finish-wise...there is no real comparison. The Reeves come out far on top.

Back on topic,

IMO neither, since you obviously want something that you can beat on a bit, but you want something that looks good while doing it; skip both the SnG with its smallish cutting edge and the sebenza with its atrocious thumb studs and get an umnumzaan that way you have the best of both worlds in one package.

Agree. The Umnum and Mnandi are both much sweeter knives. But what do I know?

This thread is drifting, it needs more pics.

A Mnandi is an exceptional knife (any of them... I've never seen/heard of a bad one). But, it's not really in the same "group" of knife as a Sebenza (not even the small, really) and certainly not an SnG.

Agreed, Lee. But you've got to understand that knives aren't really all that practical to me. Guns are practical. Knives are fun. So why not go for the fun?

Has there ever been a Sebenza/SNG/XM-18, all at once, pass around? That might be something that could help a lot of people make a decision.

On the other hand, that is quite a lot of money to be passing around on an honor system.

I don't think anybody is going to offer up their blades for that.
