Recommendation? What should my next EDC knife be?

Right on Joe, the 950 and 940 are an excellent pair of folders that cover most needs for sure. I stopped short of getting the 810, it would nicely round off the trio but it just doesn't appeal to me as much.
The larger sized Crooked River does though
Considered one of these OP?

Yeah, Im just not sure about the Crooked River vs 940. The 940 seems like it is a lot more proven and highly recommended for a lower price.

The 940 is a awesome knife for edc. It's so light and slim but has a a lot of cutting edge tucked in those handles!! It's a impressive design by mr. Osborne. No surprise why it has stood the test of time.

GUYS! Sorry if I cant respond to all of your recommendations and comments, but trust me I am reading them! There are just so many, I never expected to get so many responses so quick! Thanks a ton guys :)

Para2. The why will come to you as you carry and use one for a while.
I have 9 of them (bring on the Maxamet) and it's my most carried model for EDC. Doesn't mean it will be yours, but I think you should get one, you will not stop hearing/reading/seeing/thinking about it 'til you do so just get it done.

940 is a great EDC folder, mines a -1 which is too expensive, but there a few good choices out there in G10/S30V 940's.
Actually I prefer the 943 but BM just won't come to the party with any upgrades for it :(

Tenacious is not in the same league (much as I like it) and I don't own the others you mentioned.

Also I am highly impressed with my Manix XL, ZT 0562 and BM 950 Rift.

950 Looks really good! I like the handle, gives it an 'expensive look' haha Ill check it out

Ok guys, so here is where I am at... 940 (original), Paramilitary 2 in S35VN, or the 950 Rift (black).
I like that the 940 is tested and a really classic knife and I think it is necessary for any decent collection. Although, I really like how durable and awesome the PM2 seems. Everyone and their mom loves this knife! But I also like how unique and good looking the 950 rift is! I have a lot of thinking to do haha

Each of those 3 is different enough from the others to make that a choice that depends on your specific requirements, what you cut and if weight is factor for you.

I'm still recommending the Para2 for the same reason I posted above.
If light weight carry is what you need the, 940.
For something beefier, 950.
None of them will disappoint.

Comes a point where only experience with them will inform you further which is best for you.

Pic required when you get one :)

These folders are not in the same league. I would choose 940 and PM2 over others. Between these two, it is really a toss of coin. If 940, I would go with the upper limit of budget for a 940-1501. If pm2, a sprint run like with s90v steel.
I think that if he got a PM2 he should get the S35VN (brown scales) holds a nice edge and relatively easy to sharpen. the S90V is a bear to sharpen and the spyderco Sharpmaker has no effect on it. If he is planning to send it out to sharpen it would not matter.

We love to make recommendations, it's not always easy to find someone that is interested in hearing about knives.

Noted thanks for letting me know. I was kinda swaying between the two steels but now Im set on the S35VN. Thanks :)

Look, I'm not going to try to convince you to pick a certain knife, they're all good.

You should just get what appeals to you.
Our opinion shouldn't matter.

And I definitely wouldn't consider any knives other than the three you mentioned.

Happy hunting:)

The Gayle Bradley if you are a true knife pimp. It's one bad mutha. Seriously they are all good folders but if it were up to me of these 3 I would pick #4 and just get the Gayle Bradley.

there's a black 940 with g10 nowadays too. just so you kno
Yeah I really like that one aswell. If it were all looks I wouldgo with that over the original in a heart beat. I think I like the original better though just because it screams Benchmade and will look awesome after a few years of wear.

Thats a lot of 940 pictures for not trying to convince me :p haha Just playing. Anyway those pictures are really awesome thanks for sharing :) Also the recommendations and information you guys give to me is invaluable but, I wont just get a knife because you guys tell me to. I have to really like it too.

Looks really really nice and Im a sucker for carbon fiber but 3.5 inches is usually where I think a knife is getting to big for my taste. I also dont know how the carbon handles would fair with years of hard use. Thanks for the recommendation though!
