What size blade do you EDC and why?

Two inch fixed blade. Total oal 5.25" I carry this daily in a crossdraw horizontal sheath, whether working on the ranch or in the shop. Got my pants on, got my knife on. Completely out of the way, I can get to it with either hand, compact and comfortable, ya forget you are wearing it. This is actually my third knife with those exact same measurements. This works really well for me and I have not found it wanting. Not my first choice if I were going elk hunting but I have other knives for that. This is what I carry day in day out. Just wearing it as I model these chinks/chaps we just finished before shipping them to the customer.

Its just always with ya, big enough to cut what I need to cut. As a knife maker I could make and carry whatever I wanted. This is what I made for me.

Personally for folders I'll tend to carry a knife with a blade somewhere between 3" - 4", although I have carried smaller in the past. Depends on the day. When I carry a fixed blade, as I'm usually within city limits I normally have no realistic use for a blade larger than 4". One of the smallest fixed blades I've carried has been my Ulu.

And while testing the usefulness/durability of my 1095 prototype.

Both are 4" from the most forward part of the edge to the back of the handle, and just shy of 2" along the edge.

Anywhere from 2-4” folders. Generally around 3” depending on what I am doing that day. If I go to the office in a suit, I tend to slip a Spyderco Roadie or Ladybug in my pocket but might carry a 4”folder on the weekends.

I also like to rotate between ALL of my knives so they all get used as I have a good collection of different sized blades.
