What the Heck Is Going On???

Which wasn't too long ago. Weird but it seemed a little more fun back then, you had to search, talk, share, trade up, post, and wait for what you were wanting. Hell now all you need is the right amount of cash and Bingo...you got yourself a "Quest" Busse! I dunno, some of this is good but I think I liked it better when it wasn't so easy.

I haven't been around all that long, but I remember when "two weeks" meant "two weeks." Half the fun was in the anticipation and watching other people sweat. :p

To get back to that sense of in-house networking, I think you have to go after the straights. Tony, Cobalt, Mulder, and others have it down to an art. Heck, Tony is combing the international market. And succeeding!!!

A year ago, you had to jump on any Busse that came up for sale. ANY one...

Now you can be selective with what you want... MUCH different...

True, it was a gut renching feeling when you JUST missed out on something you had been after for a while. That made it fun when you had a win.

Still, things have changed slightly. As for the good stuff, you guys are looking in the wrong spots!

Whats eBa.... ?????

:D:foot:

The way market prices are going on these, you better just grab one before they keep going higher. Do a search on the Exchange, some were offered at too high a price and did not move, but if you see one much under $1000, just take a deep breath and say those three little words... :p

No luck with a search maybe someone will come to me with one of those behind the scene stealth deals I am always hearing about. I guess we will never know but if it does happen I will be sure to post pics.

Its a tough market out there now. I sold a couple of Randalls on that Auction site, and one had only 1 bid, and the other had just 2. In good times there would have been fights over them. Brought only my minimum opening bids. I'm not selling anymore until the market turns around. I'm afraid its going to get worse before it gets better.

Buyers market for sure... But I don't think people are spending much these days...

I love the flood of INFI we have been experiencing lately. While I love "the hunt" I really like being able to afford these knives. And since I am not a collector I am not concerned about the rarity of a model. Just my 2 cents. ;)

I agree. Im not after models for there collectabilty. Props to those that are and all, just not me. I like to be able to get what I want when I want. Customs, variants, vintages dont USE any better than current standard models IMO. Im sticking more or less to whats available since Ive been here. Im leaving the past to the past(for the most part). Not that I dont think they are worth the money. I've spent $1200 on a single Hattori Gyuoto and have the best working chefs knife in the world, but Ill use that 40 hours a week. This will slice better than any Busse could EVER dream of slicing. I might even quarter a chicken with it.Or a Fugiwara Nakiri for $650 that Ive never even sharpened in 4 years. But they wont chop wood,metal,plastic...apples and oranges if you get my drift. I can get one of these any time I want. No waiting.Best of the best. Like Busse. Im not a very patient person so I guess the market is good for me. I can get what i want now.

The economy is in the toilet. Usually the first thing people sacrifice are their "toys." I know when times get tough, and they might be here soon, people will be dumping their stash. Sad but true.

I have had about 9 different scotches tonight, so I would say it would take all of them to equal one Ruck:D

One last drink and then I'm out for the night. You all have a good one!

Hey Cobalt how many of these make a Ruck?
