What the Heck Is Going On???

My wife made me drink a glass of wine from Trader Joe's and I am barely hanging on. :p How do you do it Cobalt?

Olympic liver training. Does a body good....just keep drinking a gallon of agua a day plus liver suppliments.....plus some good ole fashoned Cranberry juice :p to keep a strong, healthy liver ;).

To all you fancy whiskey drinkers out there....:p nothing really, I'm envious....but still happy with my Jack Black or Jameson :D got quite a taste for either :)

notice alot of the overpriced old shcools are just sitting there WAY OVERPRICED:eek: when they are priced fairly they only last minutes sometimes seconds :D

SHBM under a $1000.00 WHERE WHAT WHO:eek:
The way market prices are going on these, you better just grab one before they keep going higher. Do a search on the Exchange, some were offered at too high a price and did not move, but if you see one much under $1000, just take a deep breath and say those three little words... :p

I'm glad that Jerry is putting out more volume these days. It's been complained about forever. Playing games to get knives is great fun for some but it's not for me. For instance, I really like the fact that I can go right now and order a Fallkniven F1 (of course that is one example) if I want one. I don't have to F5, sit for hours waiting for a GO GO GO and not know what I am going to get (I never do so it's more for the Hogs), spend hours on this forum each day hoping for a hint of what is to come, and I don't have to ask for favors from the forum members. I am not knocking those who enjoy that hunt but I am one of those (and I think there are a lot of us) impatient folks who refuses to stand in line for the day after Thanksgiving sales or overnight for concert tickets and the same applies for knives. Having lots of variety for choices in Busse purchases allows me to spend more free time with my hobbies and less time in front of the computer playing the game to score INFI. It keeps more of my money in Jerry's pocket cause lets face it, when they are that hard to come by, I buy other makers products.
I would love it if Jerry would make all the really coveted older models available to purchase to everyone. The resale value or collectability is not a factor for me so he could knock the bottom out of that market and it wouldn't hurt my feelings any.
Not to mention, the more he makes, the more he "makes".
Rock on Jerry, bring it!

practice makes perfect:thumbup:

I think when you start seeing old little knives come up to the value of big knives that is when they start to sit.

I think the hunt is part of the fun and I like the way Busse does things. I also like the fact that he continually comes out with new designs because he will eventually come out with a knife that fits everyones taste. You have so many choices. I also like the fact that he does not bring up past lines as this wold be a sign of failure on his part since he should be striving for improvement not dwelling on the past. The anniversary knife is an exception.
I don't mind seeing variations on past lines, or other lines that were made of another steel now brought back in INFI like the ASH1.

I can only state how I feel about things now...
Who knows what Jerry's plan really is.

For me... I no longer feel the need to play in every ganza, buy multiples
of the models I like, and generally hoard INFI.

With the amount that is now available, and combined with the fact that
you can get out of production blades in the ganzas...
Why pay secondary market markup for anything?
I'll bet that with all the ganzas we'll see this year (I'm guessing 6 or so)
I will have the opportunity to pick up any blade style, old or new,
out of production or in production or even soon to be released models,
that I could possibly want.

Bottom line... to me, it feels like Jerry is trying to take the over-pricing
that occurs in the secondary market, back into Busse Combat.
At least on models that have been released within the past 5 years or so.

He may be trying to find that balance point, so the price appreciation wont
occur until 8 to 10 years.

I know there are new snouts in the trough arriving every day
that will help absorb the floods of INFI coming out...
but, for me, where as I used to buy 10 to 15 of the blade styles I liked,
I will now only buy maybe 1 or 2 at best. And I know I'm not the only one
that is thinking like this.

So I guess the question becomes, how does the purchase rate decrease of the
current collector set (those that buy 10+ of one blade type), the amount of new snouts
in the trough, the quantity available on the secondary market at reasonable prices,
and the ever increasing amount coming out of Wauseon, all add up???
I think it equals a flood and a stagnant market place.

Just this lil’ piggy’s opinion.

I agree with you Lil' Foo. The most I ever purchased of any one model color combo was 3 (once) and I'll never do that again.

I agree.
Plenty of INFI available directly from Busse in all shapes and sizes to meet every need.
I no longer need to hoard trade fodder in order to aquire that next INFI fix.

I need to be able to afford to buy a cultellus, ruck kensai, and hog muk.

I don't necessesarily "need" those particular knives, I just need to be able to afford them...

The Busse store and the secondary market for me.

No more massive effort followed by a many month wait.

Yup, with the so called "Ganzas" being "Out of Production" no longer means unavailable from the Factory.

People who have a knife I want allways seem to be willing to trade toward some thing I have.

Could not have said it better myself, Lil Foo. I bought a bunch of ASH-1's, and I don't think I will do that with other models coming out. Out of the last Ganzaa, I only bought 1 #72, I normally would have picked up a bunch of other pieces out of that sale. You have to be "well healed" to keep up with the new trend of many knives coming out, it seems like every few weeks, now. Does it really pay to flood the market with a lot of knives, or sell a moderate supply to the loyal fans that buy many pieces, then they sell/trade to others, and keep the market going. It really keeps the interest up in the knives by doing it that way. Now, I don't really care if I miss a Ganzaa or not. I guess the boss knows what he is doing. Maybe he just wants to put up a big rush, rake in a cool 5 Mil, and retire to the islands and sit on the beach with his bottle(s) of Blue Label and watch the Bikini's go by. I will always wish him the best. I have a lot of fun here on the Web-site, and it has helped me through some tough medical problems, whereas I could think of other more pleasant things. I meet a lot of great guys here on this website. TC

Thanks TC.

I wish I had added something like this to the end of my post...
I was thinking it came off as pretty negative. :o

I have nothing but respect for a man that's done what Jerry's been able to do.
And I'm not just talking about the incredible product...
there is the company(ies), the customer service, and the community.

No, No ... not negative at all, Foo. Instead, quite reasonable and sane.

It's pretty much the stance I've begun to take.

I love INFI, but with the ready availability I don't need to play 2006 games in 2008. :D However -- I still want a CG SFNO!!

This is not comparing apples and oranges but sort of similar. My son and I use too attend a lot of baseball card shows, basically me funding his hobby. Back when the Braves and Gregg Maduxx were HOT,HOT,HOT we bought a maduxx rookie card for $40.00 dollars and were ecstatic. That same card which I still own is worth $1.50. It was a great tool for bonding with my son and I wouldnt take anything for it. Sorry for rambling.
