What to buy next and please rate my collection

Looks like a lot of cold steel so you Like demkos designs so a demko ad20 would be logical. They can be found in the exchange and the skinny variant is plentiful on that auction site.

Also need some zt in there. Looks like you like hinderer, the hinderer designed zts have sone benefits that hinderers dont. But dont stop with just those zts.
 
I've never been one to keep expanding my collection, and lately I've been becoming more and more minimalist with it, so my opinion might not be what you're looking for. Personally, I'd sell the majority of those, keep no more than 10 of your favorites, and buy one or two customs or higher end knives. Then keep the rest of the funds for future knives that strike your fancy.
 
Sell the lower end stuff and use the proceeds to buy some higher end folders. Shirogorov, Koenig, etc. Be careful though it gets addictive fast. There’s nothing wrong with the brands you have in your collection but once you’ve experienced a top tier folder you’ll never go back and honestly how many knives can you carry in a lifetime? I started out like you - trying everything I could afford to get my hands on but then I started focusing on quality over quantity and I’ve never looked back.
 
You’re kinda where I was 5 years ago. I grabbed up any new modern folder that came out without much regard to the overall world of EDC knives.

Your collection is sadly lacking some fixed blades, but as a primarily folding blade guy, I can see how it can happen. Maybe make a moratorium on yourself to buy no folding knives for 6 months. There’s a beautiful world that you’re missing, and I’m still struggling to catch up with.

The other thing you’re missing are traditional slip joints. I used to look down my nose at knives without locks and clips…but DAMN there’s a beautiful world of knives out there. There’s a simple elegance to a “jack knife” and dang, those thin blades cut like a knife should.

I have specific requirements of a traditional knife and most here woukd scream “HERETIC” for the way I carry them, but please don’t neglect them. No collection is complete without a solid traditional representation.

Well, if auto's are legal in your locale, a couple of Microtechs might be a nice addition. Nice collection BTW :D

A nice start. I think it needs "tightening up" but that's a decision most collectors make after they've been doing it for awhile.

FWIW, there are over 350 knives in my collection.

You own quite a few knives that I have owned/sold before, many more knives that I've never owned and only a few that we own in common. So, we obviously have different tastes in knives and there's absolutely nothing "wrong" with that.

I collect a lot of "things" -- not just knives -- and the only "rule" to collecting is simply to collect what YOU like.

Your collection will evolve over time as your experience/knowledge of knives increases and your preferences become more refined/defined. It's a process. Just enjoy it and don't worry about what other people think about how you are approaching the hobby.

Did you bring your whole collection into the car to take pictures of them individually?
 
Wow. That is a heck of a collection!

You certainly could go in a lot of directions. If it were me, I’d shoot for a smaller number of very high quality blades, plus some SAKs.

I’m thinking the following for me:

Up to five small (<3” blade) “work” folders - Likely a mix of CRK (3) and Olamic (2). Right now, I just have the 3 CRKs.

Up to five “dress” folders - 3 CRK Mnandis for sure. Likely a William Henry and possibly a Rockstead Shu. Right now, I just have one mnandi.

Up to two larger folders - Grimsmo Rask and my “beater” Benchmade AFCK. Right now, I just have the Benchmade.

A couple of SAK Cadets.

Writing this makes me realize I need to get on the stick with selling some of my GECs, SAKs, and a few fixed blades. While I have some cash on hand for one or two purchases, I feel like I need to stay liquid in case a Rask or Mnandi pops up. Right now those are at the top of my list.
