What to expect in a $1500 knife

Agreed they are overpriced. I have s45vn. Fat carbon fiber inlays. I only bought it because I like the blade shape and could justify the $ with the inlays. That, and it seemed cheap after the $1500- lol. Other than that, he asks a lot of $ for 2 plates of steel with a pattern design. Honestly, it took me a year to pull the trigger due to these things and I had a weird experience with him trying to order a custom, but it was minor. That's when I came to the conclusion- nice knives, but get them on sale and you are where you should be. I also factored that they seem to be hard to sell.
Post up a pic if you can. Thanks!

LOL What? You were the guy who tried to throw shade first. Don't act bungstung because he responded.

Secondly, your second sentence doesn't even make sense. Keep a knife that's obviously not what was agreed on? Supporting the community is a great idea. "Supporting" a maker who sends out beat up knives to customers isn't.
No, he made a joke and likely was speaking if his own credit card. The response was a little much.

Um, maybe I'm dense, but what do you use a $1500 knife for?

Um, same thing you use a trophy wife for, to stare at of coarse. I’m trying to figure out what you use a $2500 knife for. Oh, that’s right, to stare at. Lol. It is what it is brother.

I think it's cute the maker was proud enough of this knife to charge OP $1500 for it and ship it out while OP won't show us pics trying to protect the maker's reputation.
