What to get with $400?

If I had $400 to spend on a knife, I think I'd get 20 or so Rough Riders, and a 16 inch (wheeled) 7 speed Citizen folding bicycle.

Alex,
Thanks for the recommendation, but I pulled the trigger on Bark River Bush Seax ($300) last night. I will shop the maker's market here next business quarter.
I'll post pics of the buy when it arrives here and on the other site we know each other on.
Regards, Brad T.
There's no way in hell I'd spend $400 on a production fixed blade.

I've made/sold some (if I do say so myself) nice blades for WAY less than that amount. And there's some VERY good makers right here on BF in the Makers market section that make awesome knives at lower prices than that.

(My favourite ones at mr. Bailey and mr. Dan Graves)

At that price.....custom all the way.

Cool deal, the knife I posted sold today.

Well as it turns out, my friend wasn't fast enough and the knife I wanted was gone. So I am back where I started. Charlie Mike, Cool for you, not for me. As soon as heard he couldn't get the knife I rushed back here to see your message. I am excited and will look into the knifemaker's market.

Contact Shannon Carter, his knives are top notch and, in my opinion, his handle work is far superior than most, especially in his price range.

Thanks for the ideas. I have decided on a Bark River Bush Seax. 4.8" A2 blade with Ironwood handle. Won't be the nicest knife in my collection but it will be a nice user.

Good choice I've been playing with one in the Showroom trying to decide if I need one. You can never go wrong with Desert Ironwood. I've been thinking it might be a nice camp knife. It would be nice processing food and doing chores around camp.

Desert ironwood is awesome. I use it in a lot of my work.

The one I wanted wasn't available, Ironwood Burl w/red liner and Mosaic pins. Even though it still shows available on your website today.
So I gave him some other options yesterday and he scored a Bravo 1.25 CPM3V -Ironwood Burl/Red Liner/Mosaic.
I will probably be back for a Bush Seax or Bantam Seax next quarter.
