What tool/vic did you carry today?

I've got the SideClip with me today. Notice anything unusual about this particular SideClip?

P.S. TGIF!!!

I've spent the last three weeks hiking in the Norwegian mountains and carried a Victorinox Huntsman with me, along with an Opinel nr 8 and a Mora knive.

This morning I used my Leatherman Charge Tti with a 5mm hex bit to disassemble an excercise machine my son is moving to his new house. It was just on a whim I brought the kit with me in the first place. I didn't really think it would be needed because he is one of those guys who has just about every tool there is, plain or fancy, hand or electric powered. However, because he was in process of rehabbing the new place, his hex drivers were there, along with the rest of his tools. So I got to be a hero one more time for my little boy (actually, he is taller than me but it wasn't always so ;) .)

No, looks like all the rest to me.

It's pretty close. Here's a line up for comparison:

The one on the far left and the far right are both original. The one in the middle has the pocket clip from a Leatherman Kick. A while back, I bought a used SideClip with a broken clip so I replaced it. The clip for the Kick is very similar and makes a nice replacement. The screw hole is much larger but it doesn't wiggle any more than the original clips.

I could have tried sending it in to Leatherman for repair but it didn't seem right since it was clearly broken off intentionally by the prior owner. And I had an extra Kick clip already so it worked out well.

Tonight I grabbed my SAK Angler and Fisherman since I was taking my son fishing. Shamefully it was our first time going fishing this year. Either my health issues prevented it or the weather or schedules. But I promised I would get him out before school starts. We had a lot of fun. I caught 5 and he caught one. But he casted himself and hooked it and reeled it in. But he still won't touch them. LOL We are going to go tomorrow morning. I am not a morning person so it will be a struggle, but he has baseball practice tomorrow night so we can't go at night. I am taking after my dad though. I keep catching the cute ones. Non of them where 5 inches long. LOL But I don't care. We caught some and we had fun. That is all that matters. I was able to do this because of my new power chair. I would not have lasted very long in my old scooter. Thank you Lord. I figured I will take my Deluxe Tinker tomorrow. It will have what I need in one knife. The Angler has scissors, but the Fisherman has pliers. The Tinker has both. Looking forward to another day with my son.

A few days ago I accompanied a friend of mine to an outdoorshop. Since it is almost september, he wanted to buy a new rain coat. I went to the section where they sell knives. There I saw that they had a couple of black verions of the Victorinox Climber model and I decided to buy one. It is my first black model of the 91mm range, the only other black SAK I have is a Victorinox Nomad.

Today put the black Climber in the pocket.

Hey Buck Fan that black SAK Pioneer has been in my rotation for a long time. In fact I think it has the record for pocket time out of all my (too) many knives. Peanut is a beaut I have a red bone pen that looks very similar.

Today I had Leatherman Pulse and Victorinox Finlandia Birdie (a key chain Victorinox) with me . That Black SAK cadet looks absolutely gorgeous!

Today and last weekend I carried my Victorinox Soldier. Here it is, on my vest and with some old walnuts from the tree near my father his farm.

I'm going salt water fishing today and will bring my SwissTool X with me... hope it doesn't go in the drink! :)

Today it's a GAK , a Spirit X , and a Rambler on the keys . There's also an Electrician Plus that lives on my tool pouch .

Chris

This week it has been a Climber and I still carry it in my left front pocket. The Climber is one of my favourites for EDC in an urban environment.
