I hope my pics aren't too gross.
Love your unique & clever ways of posting your pics. Always looking forward to the next one.
Yes, it’s very similar to my Heritage Jack which I love. I think the thinner blade stock on the 2AB will make for a better user. Just wish they were 1095!The barlow has never really spoken to me much but I really like the green micarta one. Looks traditional enough but with subtle modern touch!
Very nice composition, sombre but elegant.GEC Spring Street Barlow again today - a more overcast, drizzly, and dark kind of day, the knife color looks more subdued as well. OH

It was lucky indeed! Wish I went for a giraffe or mammoth in hindsight!Hyesouljah amazed by your apple pix with the dog waiting patiently for her ration. Never thought dogs liked fruits-bears yes and my late parents had a huge Tomcat who was crazy about melon slices. Isn't apple a powerful laxative though....
Tremendous that Barehead, lucky day you got that!
I am enjoying using mine.Really enjoy carrying this 73. It just begs to be used!

Thanks, John. That Boker magnum scout evokes a lot of nostalgia for me.Very nice Scout Knife, GT.![]()
It's nice that Boker gives a ready-to-buy option with that grand old pattern.
That jigged bone WCLF is a superstar, Paul!A repeated duo since last weekend. Lambfoot and small Tinker. The Lambfoot has been my apple knife of late

Very belated birthday greetings, Joshua, and delayed congrats on the part-time job you secured!Grilling in the wet. B-day carry
Jeff, thanks for the info on your rope knife.Thank you! Yes, those big slabs of black walnut are factory.
About that linguistics thing. I am relieved that someone else, a real college professor at that, notices that nonsense as well! It’s gotten extremely common among the lowest common denominators in society - news readers. It ranks close to “I could care less”, to which I reply, “How much less?”![]()
3 quality alox SAKs, Frank!![]()
The Pioneer with the blue lanyard.
Thanks for the glove info, Jack! I bought my cowhide mittens back in 1976 when I took skiing lessons and wanted something durable for grabbing the rope tows to get up the beginners' hills. Haven't been on skis since then, but the mittens sure have served me well!Sorry about the link Gary, I often have the same thing! They ARE good gloves though!
I have a lot of pairs of Mechanix gloves, and as I know my sizing, that was one of the reasons I bought the Durahide pair from them, though they're still snug compared to the non-leather gloves. I rarely suffer with cold hands, even in winter, but I wear them when I am working. My new gloves are definitely leather, but Durahide also seems to be used as a name for faux-leather furniture, which is a bit confusing. One of the main reasons I bought leather gloves was for handling hot pots and pans around the camp fire. Your split cowhide gloves sound great, and even if they were expensive, have provided exceptional value after 45 years

Yeah, sometimes it seems that in current American society, nothing important happened before last week! Thanks, Gary.. I suspect my friends are mostly the same way. I'm certain my kids and grandkids are unamused by my stories of my youth and the olden days, ya know, Dads or Granddads were never young.

Really distinctive ram's horn on your '20 BF knife; looks like some kind of fancy "distressed" leather!I carried my 2020 forum knife today while patiently waiting for the 2021.

Todd, I like that canoe with white bone and speckles, and that must be a BIG barlow!I heard in another thread (@afishhunter) that a Barlow and a canoe make a great pairing…thought I’d give it a go. View attachment 1655522
Desirable set of traveling knives with some handsome knife "luggage"!View attachment 1655525

Bonny bone on that elegant pair, JJ!
Congrats on that handsome Henkels, Jim; heck of a first whittler!Whittlin' time away on this rainy day while going through the bonding phase with this new arrival.
Solingen Stainless Henckels by Boker, Whittler with beautiful Hellbraun Pin Feather Jigged Bone.
Well centered, no blade rub, hand honed and sharp out of the box. Minor gaps at backspring.
This one is going to be a strong competitor for pocket time with my Case Medium Jack and Texas Jack.
Very happy with this, my first "Whittler". Most excellent !!!

Belated sympathies to you and your family on your loss. My Mom died in a traffic accident 33 years ago last week; tough times.Unfortunately my Mom passed away last week, so I’ve been preoccupied. I carried this #92 to AL with me, and I’m still carrying it today.

You've got some classic fixed blades there, Bruce! Now Cal, you KNOW that 'our' Buck 118 is already in my hunting pack, along with two old style skinners I have obtained since last deer season. I will use my favorite Buck 118 and will also try to work in this old school Kabar 1233 Skinner and this modern take, a 1980 Case 223-5 Skinner that has Delrin handles. One thing is for sure, unless I find myself in the woods with nothing but a pocketknife, I won't be using a pocketknife to clean and butcher a deer! OH
...
Very attractive min trapper, José!I carry today this Case mini trapper wharncliffe in bone.
...
Your stag HHB and the stag BF knife (from 2014?) make and admirable stag pair, Jack!...
Double stag for me today, my Hartshead Barlow, and an Old Friend I always mean to carry more![]()
