What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The story behind the knife I have ready for this weeks Wooden Wednesday carry ... because we share stories on the porch ... I think.
About this time of year and about 10yrs ago, I was awakened from an afternoon nap on the sofa by a *CRUNCH* sound.
This No.8 from the Opinel Slim Series had fallen from my pocket. A then wee pup, Mason, found it for me.
Mason did eventually learn what was appropriate and acceptable to attempt to destroy, thank goodness.
I mean, I only need so many priceless things and stuff ya know. Shoot
Good boy Mason !!! :)

So they named this Boker model the 'Club Knife' and I'm curious why? Any ideas?

I googled around and couldn't find an explanation for the naming, although I did find that the "Club" is similar in size to their "Sport" knife, known in North America as a "Camp" knife. My guess is that this Club knife which is more elegant and with fewer features than the Camp knife is suitable for a gentleman's (perhaps social) Club life. I really REALLY like the knife but it's too similar in size and function to the Northwoods Indian River Jack I have, to drop the coins on this Boker. Otherwise, I might be all over it !!!
Very Nice :)

That logic makes sense to me, Jim. It very well could be the reason they named it Club Knife, it is pretty darn slim even when compared to some other single spring/ single blade knives. A non intrusive pocket carry that would carry well in dress slacks when out for an old fashion and some prime rib.:)

Boker & Rough Rider today, both with nice snappy blade action. So they named this Boker model the 'Club Knife' and I'm curious why? Any ideas?

Not entirely sure Greg, but that’s sure is a beautiful example. 😎👍
I don't have an answer, but I'd be curious too. I do know I'm very happy with the one I have.
I have the Jute and Castle Burg Club knives and really like them a lot also. 😊

This sounds like a great explanation to me Brother Jim. In fact, it has “Gentlemen’s” in its name. 😊
