Got this old Boker 1/2 Trapper with me today! I really enjoy carrying this thing. It has some awesome old bone and the action is perfect. I dig
the saber grind on the main blade. Just an all around great old slip joint....imho.

Nice #66 sturzi, one of my most favorite patterns!!! Love the Ebony:thumbup:

Thanks Paul. I agree, the pattern feels really great. I wanted one for a long time but couldn't find one that really appealed to me, then this one (and a #62 in palmwood) came along and I just couldn't resist :) (arrived just last week).

Thanks Jason! You always bring it when it comes to the Vintage classics my friend---love that 1/2 trapper:thumbup:

I can see why! In fact, I spent some time earlier this evening looking for your first post of this knife, so I could see it again (once I did, I quoted your post in the current What makes a ... barlow thread ;)). Little did I know that I could've just waited a scant hour longer, and you'd post it again. :)

This one has been with me for most of the last week.

Sweet, sweet knife. I watched you grab it; very nice catch!

Had this one with me today, on its maiden voyage:

Case Small Texas Jack...
I like these knives a lot (one of the "can't go wrong with" patterns, in my estimation). I really like the bone on yours, which you captured nicely. Sail on. :)

Thanks, Blaine. I came across this one as a bit of a fluke on the 'bay while looking for the Boker made Russell Barlows. No one else bid on it, so it ended up being cheaper than what the Russells were going for at the time. I've never seen any others for sale with these same wood covers.

Here's what it used to look like. The chestnut tree logo is one of the coolest out there IMO.

Not sure, but my first thought was oak due to the grain and open pores. The seller didn't have much info on it and they don't seem as common as the bone handled Barlows. I didn't even know whether it was carbon or stainless steel until I started using it.:)

Gonna get as much milage outta this pic as I can, anyway, I'm still carryin' the 2012 GEC Traditional Forum's Wharncliff Trapper.
