Thanks 315. We like it there because it’s so different from the mostly flat area where we live. It’s more like the southern/southeast part of the state which is WAY closer to us but there isn’t any skiing. Cool story thanks for sharing it.I grew up just 8 miles north of Galena. It’s interesting to go back and see these small towns that have been resurrected, as I call it. Galena, and a lot of the other small towns in the area, seemed like they were falling apart when I was a kid and now they’re considered destinations. My Dad still lives in the same little house he bought in 1969. He and my uncle drive down to the little ski area and sit in the parking lot and watch the skiers going down the hill. He gets enjoyment out of it so thats all that matters. Enjoy your trip.
