Though not as cold as many others, hovering around freezing for this area is pretty cold, dropping into the low 20s tonight. I've already had to go into the attic and clean off the flame sensor for our furnace so it would push heat out and not just air.

Carrying these for my last work day leading into the weekend.

Very true, especially about the wind. At least its fairly calm here this morning.

First time I ever had to do that was here at our house in MN, at like 1 am on a double-digits-below-zero night like we’ve been having the last few days. Thankfully I was awake to hear that something wasn’t working right, and was able to figure it out quick enough that it didn’t get too cold in the the house.

After learning of the passing of our old friend Half/Stop in my absence (slightly over a year ago) I decided to carry a Primble Belknap Jack Knife today to honor him for his contributions on this forum. He gave me this knife to add to my Primble collection years ago and I cherished it then, possibly more now. I was lucky enough to spend some time with him and his wife Pam at one of the GEC Rendezvous for a few dinners and a few days. We made a knife trade from the trunk of my car just before I departed for home. RIP Ron and thank you my friend ! View attachment 1716365

I'd say it has 98% of it's life left in it - someone in the future will be carrying this knife I'm sure.

Can't get enough of old Scout knives. That's a great one!

I don't carry them enough, but way back when a Scout Knife was my EDC (when I had never heard of the term!)

You top picture reminds me of last summer. We had a Mexican contractor out for something, and he commented on my garden. I took him over and picked a bag of jalapenos for him. He said “Oooh chee-lays!” And I learned something from him. He spotted a sprawling squash vine in the front yard (volunteer planted by chipmunks), and said they use the blossoms in cooking, so he got a sack of those too.

Love the Imperial, Gary. Reminds me of my yellow Sabre fish knife Grandpa gave me when I was a kid. It’s out in my fishing vest.

My son and his wife and kids, anong with a bunch of her family just got back from Disneyworld. They also had their friends from Scotland along, too.
Now my son and his boy, and the couple from Scotland all have the ‘rona.
Thankfully, it must be the weakened latest variant, and they all just feel a little lousy.

Some visitors to our yard today. Mr. Redtail looking for a pigeon, I expect. The little birds just go about their business, and don't seem to be threatened by him.
I tossed a few scoops of birdseed in the yard for the turkeys. The grandkids get a kick out of watching them.
