Best looking Small Texas Jack.
I love how you are so devoted to that knife.
It really makes me want to carry mine more too.

Thank you.
It is definitely one of my favorite knives and I would guess I probably carry it more than anything else, but I don't really keep track.

I gave an involuntary whimper at reading this. I can’t get warm enough right now.
And your salmon soup sounds so good.
I have some quarts of turkey stock that I canned from two carcasses back in November. I need to make a soup.

This knife will stay on me until this covid is gone. I toted it for several weeks in early ‘20 while recovering from acute appendicitis and an appendectomy. So is there healing power in smooth yellow bone? Yes, there is.View attachment 1722485View attachment 1722484

I woke around 6:00 am and logged on here for a bit. Then put the phone down and next thing I knew it was 1:00 pm.

Got the alert that my daughter’s test is also positive.😔 Poor girl. She’s non verbal, so it’s hard for her to say how much she hurts.

She seems to be faring better than her old man which is a blessing.

Hope you all have a blessed day!
That’s one nice little Camillus you have there! Hopefully your daughter gets well very soon!!

More comments on quotes over a week old; obligation is a harsh mistress (apologies to Heinlein)! :rolleyes::(

I should have rearranged these to make a “beer” with a “whiskey” (whisky) chaser. 😊
Have a great day everyone! 👍View attachment 1715116
Big-league brace of Böker barrel Barlows, Todd! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

These will not provide any excuses for dodging any miscellaneous chores!
I try not to offer excuses so I can dodge chores, I just grumble piteously while doing some of those chores. 🤓
You and yours are in my prayers, Jeff, regarding the COVID infections. I was a little worried earlier in the week when you reported being under the weather, since the latest version of this plague is spreading like wildfire recently.

Good Morning Porch Friends.
Carrying a couple of my favorites today.
Practical and pretty pair, John! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good wood on a couple of appealing nearly-current models, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I always want to acknowledge the fine canoes that folks post here! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Outstanding RRs Gary, and @r8shell elevated that regular RR canoe to something truly special. 😎👍
Great group, Gary. @r8shell did a bang up job on that white bone canoe!
Really great canoes, Rachael really did do a fantastic job, looks amazing.
A very special knife, GT. 🤠:thumbsup:
I appreciate the encouraging canoe comments, Todd & Jeremy & Dave & John & Jack. :)

Today in my pocket with this Bulldog in Rams horn.

Splendid curved Barlow, José! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I sincerely believe that if there were no internet, no porch full of enablers and instigators, I’d still be perfectly happy with just a couple of old Schrades, an SAK, and a filet knife.
I'm sure you're right, Jeff, and I wouldn't even know what I was missing. But, having been made aware of the vast variety of traditional pocket knives that exist, I sure am glad I've had the chance to enjoy some of that variety! 🤓

Today’s carry is always a difficult one to let go of, model 1823…

A great one to All:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
H😲LY C😲W, Gus! That Remington on a post post is positively provocative!:cool::thumbsup::cool:

My knife accumulating has definitely increased since I found the porch in 2015.
I started thinking about what you wrote, Bart, and realized that a graph of the number of knives I've owned as a function of time (over the past 70 years) would look a LOT like the graph of total COVID cases in the US over the past 2 years, with a lot of steeply climbing surges interspersed with relatively "flat" sections where I'm between my orders of multiple knives at a time, and COVID is between infectious surges.

I plan to replace my unmentionable moderns with small fixed blades for a while. If I find I prefer it, I've got one I've been eyeing for a while on my wish list.

Tremendous trio, Rachel! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Saluatary sowbelly, Gev! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Have a great day everyone. 😊👍View attachment 1715774
Those two make a great team, Todd! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Are you aware of this thread? 😁

Toting these two pre WWII jacks today. :)

Pair of Jacks wins the pot, JJ! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs ~
In your previous post you perfectly described my difficulty with multiquotes. The trouble happens if I change my mind and delete something I’ve typed. As soon as I take out the last letter, the text from the next quote jumps up and they get jumbled.
I appreciate your tips, because saying bad words and waving my arms around doesn’t work.

Thank you so kindly Gary !!
Good to see you around !!!
These R1823s from the ‘30s are real neet.
Interestingly different as you can see, and one has brass for liners as the other has nickel.
For your viewing pleasure and some warmth beside me as I listen to the Buffalo NFL broadcasts on A/M radio up here. I just lurve old-school everything !!

Jeff, the very best to you and your daughter.
You are both in my thoughts as well.

Chief Chief
Sundays are certainly special my friend, a truly warm and wunderful post here today.

That one is stunning. Looks like I could be 100 years old.
Looks like a lot of fun, Bart. 🤠:thumbsup:
Reminds me of snow camping when I was in Scouts and we would dig and sleep in snow caves.

This was a tunnel they dug about 15 feet long through a big mound of snow.

I’ve never been snow camping. Sounds fun but cold!
Great pictures Bart, I miss those days of playing in the snow with my kids. Nice memories. 😊👍

It’s fun for us because we get to leave and we don’t have to deal with it every day. 😁

Game day. My daughter is staying to watch the game with us before she heads back to school. My son said he is going to watch this week’s game with some buddies at school, and said he would come home and watch next week’s Bucs game with us. 🙄 Hopefully that isn’t the “kiss I’d death.”
GO BUCS! 🏴‍☠️😊🏴‍☠️View attachment 1722259
Are you sneaking a new Case in there?

I’ll be thinking good thoughts for your daughter, hoping it doesn’t hit her too hard. I just went through it with my daughter. It wasn’t too bad for her but it wasn’t too fun either.
