When the t509 Speed Triple came out I went for a test ride. At the time, I was Used to riding my Norton 750 Commando. I ended on the Speed Triple up doing 90MPH on a 25MPH back street with enough brakes and handling to feel completely comfortable with that. I thought to myself - if I buy this, I’m going to go to Jail - and maybe for the first time listened to my inner monologue. Gave the ST back to the sales guy and rode away on the Snortin’ Norton.
