What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One of the good things about starting work at 06:30 is that, on those few days I only work 8 hours, I get off at 2:30. Like today. Came home to find a beaut in the mail box.

This is a Queen dogleg jack in D2 with Birdseye Maple covers from 2006 that I found on one of the back screens of a vendor site. The fit and finish rival the very best from any production vendor, including GEC. The blades even came with good working edges. The pulls are a clean 5. One of the few knives I own with half stops. I don't normally like them, but they seem to suit this knife.

So, I said all that to say that this has been in my pocket all afternoon. (It's a shame my photo skills are so poor. The handle is MUCH more handsome than it looks in the pic.)

Nice EJ, ss, I like the lighter bone.

The wife and I are leaving for Branson, MO this morning . . . decided on the Rancher CV Sowbelly for the weekend.

Ya gotta love those Stag Rancher knives. I have the wharncliffe mini trapper and the Texas jack in the series. I picked up the damascus single blade sowbelly instead of the one like you have. Yours is awesome!! Most likely it has found a good home.

It looks great. I wonder how they get that color on the maple as it is naturally a light color wood. Super hard and durable, but not that color. Just dye maybe? Potassium permanganate treatment? Just curious.

Haven't the foggiest. It looks darker in the picture than it does in my hand.

Jason, you've been holdin' out on us! The Robeson is just beautiful.

Say Ed, any chance of a picture of the Rancher Mini-WT? Sounds very nice.

Wow wazu what a great NYK---love the stamped bolster---well everything about it really!!!

Paul
It's a knife made the old fashioned way, solid and the swedge is something you hardly see unless it's a custom.
Thanks for your comment,

Sure Jeff, here's both of my stag ranchers together. Unless they did something behind my back when I wasn't watching, I think this knife is the only WT in CV.

And another of the WT:
