I'm a mechanic/inspector by trade too. Your knife is looking great! I just cut a pair this morning with my CV Case stockman, but I think there is still oil on the blade, so it didn't affect it any

Oh dear! That wasn't my intention (let alone a foreseen outcome) at all! I just took Ed's prompt about the success of this thread, and looked at the Replies to see those who have been its lifeblood-- as well as how many have enjoyed participating along the way here and there. This thread would seem to have a life of its own, but that is of course dependent on the ongoing contributions of... those who enjoy contributing.

and for very good reason......I have to rotate a couple of others with my Outlaw to justify my propensity to buy, but this pattern, when coupled with my Pemberton (always with me) is where I would land if someone limited me to 2 knives.
